How do I Make-Up Classwork, Homework and Tests? -

In Tutorial . . . • If you planned this absence due to an

appointment or vacation, try to ask for the work ahead of time during TUTORIAL.

• Sick at home? If you’re feeling well enough, check your teachers’ websites from home, check with a classmate, and follow-up with your teacher IN TUTORIAL upon your return.

• Do not ask “What did I miss?” during class time. Ask in tutorial

Tutorial

• Tutorial is part of your school day from 2:35-3:05 pm on M,T,TH,F and a great opportunity to get some questions answered by your teachers. Please come with specific questions and materials ready to make the most of your time as well as the teacher’s time.

• Please remind your parents not to make appointments during this time as it is part of your scheduled school day.

• If you are involved in extra-curricular activities, they will not begin until 3:05 or later so tutorial can always be attended (There may be exceptions for scheduled away games).

Extended Tutorial

• On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we offer Extended Tutorial hours in our library from 3:15pm to 5:00pm.

• Take advantage of this time if you wish to work with others on a project, study for an exam with a group or ask a teacher a question.

• Many students like to attend extended tutorial to get their homework done before they leave school or before their games/performances and it’s a great habit to get into.

Struggling in a class? • Let your teacher know that you are having difficulty by attending

tutorial with specific questions.

• Ask for a different seat if you know that you are distracted by others’ behavior.

• Assemble study groups to meet in extended tutorials to help answer each other’s questions and prepare for exams.

• See your counselor for support. • Still feeling overwhelmed? Set up a conference with your teacher to

discuss some additional supports.

Don’t sit back and do nothing. High School students learn to advocate and teachers want to help you, so actively seek the supports that you may need.
