ABOUT THE HALLS

MVCC’s residence halls are divided into complexes: North Halls,SouthHalls,andBellamyHall;eachhaveaprofessionallive-instaffmember, a mix of primarily single and double occupancy rooms, study areas open 24/7, FREEinternet-basedlaundryfacilities, and more! The MVCC campus, including residence halls,istobacco-free.

Requestsforgender-neutralhousing may be directed to ResidenceLife.Wearecommitted to providing a housing program where all students feel welcome.

NORTH HALLS AND SOUTH HALLS

North and South hall complexes each consist of two adjoining residence halls: Daugherty and Huntington halls to the north, and Penfield and

Butterfield halls to the south. Both have three stories, housing about 30 students per floordividedintofour-roomquads. Each quad has its own bathroom. There are options forcoedornon-coedfloors. BELLAMY HALL

BellamyHallisa155-bedfacility.BellamyHallconsistsoffive-person,air-conditionedsuites, each with two double rooms, one single room, one and a half bathrooms, and a private gathering area. Bellamy HallalsohasaGameRoomthat is open to all residential students to enjoy billiards, air hockey,foosball,ping-pong,and more.

ROOM FURNISHINGS AND TECHNOLOGY

Allroomsarefurnishedwithabed,dresser,desk,deskchair,window blinds, a wardrobe, and ceiling lights for each

student. Students provide their own linens, pillows, and blankets.Aguide,“MovingIn?Tips on Things to Bring and ThingstoLeaveatHome,”isavailable at mvcc.edu/whattobring.

MVCCWiFi:ResidenceHallstudents have access to wirelesshigh-speedinternetthroughout the residence halls, and can connect up to three devices to this service.

Students must be a minimum of 18 years of age no later than theendoftheirfirstsemesterof occupancy to be eligible for housing;requestsforexception should be directed totheResidenceLifeoffice.

ROOM AND ROOMMATE ASSIGNMENTS

AtMVCC,weunderstandhow important your room assignmentis.Aspartofthehousing enrollment process, students complete an information and preference form.Inadditiontochoosingthe type of housing, students use this form to indicate their preferences and tell us a little about themselves, such as neatness, music tastes, sleep schedule, academic major, and hobbies. Officeusesthisinformationto match roommates with the best chances of compatibility. Wehonoryourpreferencesandrequestsforspecificroom-mates whenever possible.

CAMPUS DINING SERVICES

The residence halls are managed by the Residence LifeOfficewithfull-time,live-in, professional directors. The AssistantDirectorservesasguide and mentor to the ResidentDirector–Academ-icInitiatives,whoisdevotedto assisting residents reach academic success, and the ResidentDirector–CommunityDevelopment,whoisdevotedto creating an engaging community.AstudentResidentAssistant(RA)isassignedtoeachfloor,andprovidesactivities and support that students need.
