Each assignment is evaluated based on difficulty, length of time to complete, and importance.
WHAT ARE THE RULES IN THIS CLASSROOM?
•The rules are called Guidelines in this classroom.
Ms. Mitchell’sGUIDELINES & PROCEDURES
GUIDELINE #1:Immediately upon entering the
classroom, be in your assigned seat and begin working on the FOCUS AND OBJECTIVES. Read and follow directions.
GUIDELINE #2:Bring all materials to class and
take them with you when you leave.
GUIDELINE #3:Follow directions the first time
they are given.
GUIDELINE #4:
Treat each person and thing in this room with respect and dignity.
GUIDELINE #5:Follow all procedures and
policies outlined by the Choctawhatchee Student Handbook and the Okaloosa County policies.
SPECIAL GUIDELINE: This is a “NO WHINING
ZONE.” Everything I do is in your best interest, so please respect this guideline.

Classroom Procedures
ENTERING THE ROOM**IF YOU WERE PREVIOUSLY
ABSENT, YOU MUST HAVE AN ADMIT SLIP. IF YOU DON’T HAVE IT, GO TO ATTENDANCE
IMMEDIATELY.
1. Enter quietly. 2. Have a seat. 3. Take out your materials.4. Begin focus/board work.
WHEN YOU ARE TARDY:
•Enter quietly.•Excused OR Unexcused: Place the note the side pocket of the lectern. Have a seat and take out your materials.
AFTER ANY ABSENCE OR UNEXCUSED ABSENCES
-Check the board for work missed-Use the class computer to check www.mitchellnews.wikispaces.com Edmodo While You Were Out notebook•Schedule a time to make up quizzes/tests
*Unexcused absences may not make up tests.

participation grade based on your contributions. This is your classwork/homework grade.
•I’m interested in what you have to say.
•Questions and comments should be relevant to the current discussion.
•If your question is off topic, write it down and ask it later.
WHAT IF I FINISH CLASSWORK EARLY?
•Work on other unfinished ENGLISH assignments.
•Read your “choice” novel or teacher provided book/magazine.
•Work on and/or review vocabulary.
•Start on the assigned homework.
LEAVING THE CLASSROOM FOR RESTROOM OR EMERGENCY TO
NURSE•*** If you need to use the restroom, fill out your planner, sign out on the log, bring planner for me to sign. (One person out at a time.)
