CCC News and Notes Welcome to Christ Community Church March 24, 2013 Thank you for joining us today for Palm Sunday worship. We hope you’ll sense the welcoming love of God, a challenge from the Bible. This week the congregaon gives one of three annual sacrificial offerings for world missions. God has posioned us to make a difference in some strategic mission works, so it’s our privilege and responsibility to give generously. We keep two copies in our church library just off the Narthex. Check one out and join us for our next book club on Monday, April 15 at 6:30pm in the Usher's Room (east stairway of Narthex). Quesons call Susan Wimmer 847-338-2584. Are You In Need Of A Day Of Relaxaon And Reflecon? Then join us at our “Cozy Mountain Lodge” retreat where we will follow the story of Naomi and Ruth. Slow down, savor a warm beverage, connect with other women, and enjoy me with God. It’s a mountain lodge themed retreat you won’t want to miss! Saturday, April 27 in the Fellowship Hall at 8:30-3:30pm. A $20 registraon fee includes retreat materials, breakfast and lunch. Registraon Deadline is April 17. Register early! Space is limited. Fundraiser Saturday, April 20 ZCM and the Zion Women’s Club will hold a joint fundraiser that will include our March into Music “Finale” Luncheon, silent aucon, and concert. Students will play during lunch and teachers perform for the concert. Tickets available in the office for $10. Proceeds go towards the ZCM Scholarship Fund and piano care and maintenance. Summer Housing for Missionaries This summer we expect several of our missionaries here for visits. Tim and Luann Kuehl, Randy and Nancy Capp, Andy and Heather Sullivan and of course Anastase and Immaculee who are here now. We are looking for a house or an apartment for the Nzabilindas from May-September. We are also looking for a place for the Capps from July 20-27, 3013. If you know of a place please contact Pastor Mike at 847-217-2143. China Short-Term Trip We are sll seeking host families who would provide housing, food and love for Chinese students from July 9-20. Part of the experience for these young people will be learning English and they will be in class part of each day. The rest of the day we’ll plan acvies for them both local and in Chicago. Dexter is a part-me custodian/light maintenance person, assisng both JC and Henry in caring for our very large campus. Summer Camp 2013 Watching the sunset on the dock up at Camp is unlike anything else. If that’s not enough to get you there, hopefully the swimming, boating, crafting, friends and time with the Lord in beautiful Door County will entice you to sign up for a session! Spring Break Project Four area churches gather to go back to their schools and serve over the first two days of Spring Break. And we are going to do it again this year!

Sr. High - Monday, March 25, 9:00am – 2:00pm @ Zion-Benton Jr. High - Tuesday, March 26, 9:00am – 2:00pm @ Zion Central Middle School

We will meet at the schools at 9:00am and come back to the church for lunch at 1:00, then head home at 2:00.

Many Hands Project Jesus washed feet, demonstrating that true leadership causes us to serve others. That’s why area youth groups gather at CCC each summer to serve our community by washing windows, weeding gardens, painting fences, and more. All current 8th-12th graders are eligible for this week of ministry (July 7-13). More information in the youth room. Registration forms and a $25 deposit are due by NEXT MONDAY April 1.

Prom Alternative heads to Milwaukee for dinner at El Fuego, a stroll along the Riverwalk and entertainment at Comedy Sportz’ Improv show on Saturday, May 4 from 3:30-11:00pm. Event open to juniors, seniors and their guests, $45 per person. Sign up at any youth event or contact Leo at [email protected].

Easter Sunday Nursery care will be provided for infant through age 3 year olds at both the 9:00 and 10:30am services. No ABFs, Sunday School Classes, Children’s Church.

Make a Joyful Noise Sunday On May 5 Sunday School children, ages 4 through 6th grade will join the CCC adult choir to sing for nursing home residents. Keep checking the bulletin for details. VBS 2013 at CCC – June 17-21
