Purple:
I did a great job today. I made great choices!
When students remain on this color through the day, it brings about joy and personal pride.
Red: 1st warning, Warning
The student will move their assigned magnet to red if they receive a warning. This lets the student know that they can either correct their behavior to earn a purple for the end of the day, or if the behavior(s) persist(s), their next choice will be chosen by the teacher. Students can always be rewarded by moving their magnet back to purple.
Green: 2nd warning, Silent Lunch
If bad choices or inappropriate behaviors persist, the student will be asked to move their assigned magnet to green. If a student is on this color by lunch time, they will receive “Silent Lunch” for that day. If a student is moved to green after lunch has already passed that day, they will serve it the following day.
Yellow: 3rd warning, 15 minutes off of recess
If behaviors are continuing to disrupt classroom learning, and a student chooses to change their color to yellow, they will receive 15 minutes of time out during recess.
Blue: 4th warning, Minor
The final chance to make good decisions will end with blue. If a student must move their magnet to blue, this will be considered a “Minor.” A Minor slip will be sent home and must be signed by a parent. This is not an office referral, just a documentation of the inappropriate behavior(s) along with a plan for improvement. The student who does not correct their behavior will miss their entire recess privilege.
