•  I earned a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics and and a Masters of Arts in Teaching Mathematics from Union College, in Schenectady, NY.

•  I earned a Masters Degrees in Mathematics from Boston University.

•  This year is my 7th year of teaching mathematics.

•  You do not need to teach them math. �I need to know what they know and don’t know.

•  Encourage them. They may need reminders that they can do it, even if it is hard

•  Help them advocate for themselves and become independent learners.

•  Keep me in the loop.

+ What if they get stuck on HW?

Remind them they can…� •  write down what they do know •  check their notes •  read the book •  e-mail me •  ask a friend •  see me for extra help

+ How can students get help?

1.  They can see me for extra help.� Before School, Blocks 2, 5, 6, & 7, � Lunch, ACA, After School (by appt)

2.  They can work with friends.

3.  They can get help at Café Mathematica.

4.  They can use online resources.�This is sometimes helpful, sometimes too much
