Welcome To 4th Grade
2020-2021
Meet the TeacherMy name is Mrs. Fry, and I received my degree in Elementary Education from Southeastern University. I have a three-month-old daughter, Adalynn, who loves cuddles and loves to smile. In my free time, I enjoy going to theme parks, church, traveling, reading, and spending time with my friends and family. This will be my fourth year teaching. I have taught first, fourth, and fifth grade. I hope to create a partnership to keep your child successful in fourth grade. I love to have fun while learning, so virtual learning is going to be engaging and fun. I hope to instill a love of learning in your child, and I look forward to working together this year!
Contact [email protected]
Class DoJo - Check your email for an invitation to join our class. I will use this for class updates, messages, and behavior management.
Communication and support is key to your child’s success. You may visit our class website (http://www.mckeelcentral.com) or canvas for weekly updates. I check DoJo messages and emails every day. I will get back to you as soon as possible. Feel free to ask any questions or share any concerns you might have.
Learning PlatformsThis year your child will use Canvas as an online platform for completing and turning in assignments. In addition, I will be teaching live lessons using zoom. I will be recording lessons and posting them to Canvas in case your child couldn’t attend the live lesson or would like to rewatch it. For attending a zoom live video, please be mindful of what is in your child’s background and background noise (ex.TV’s and video games) and ensure it is school appropriate since it can be seen and heard during the lesson. For zoom lessons, it might be helpful to have a learning place for your child that is free of distractions.
The schedule will be posted on Canvas weekly with assignments and zoom videos. Please check the home page for each subject area for that week’s assignments and videos.
Class ScheduleSchedule:8:30-9:00- Morning meeting, read aloud9:15-10:15- Math lesson and small groups10:45-11:15- Science and/or Social Studies11:15-12:00- lunch/break time12:00-1:00- Reading/Language1:30-2:00- Language/Writing2:00pm-4:00pm- office hours and small group time
Class SchedulePlease know the schedule may change as I find out what works best for the class. Also, there might not always be a live lesson for each subject area daily. Please see Canvas for the weekly schedule. Lessons might not take up the entire duration of the time block. I built in breaks for wiggle breaks and for time to work on assignments.
