Why take the SAT or ACT
★ All colleges accept the SAT/ACT as an objective measurement of students’ college readiness.
★ Used with GPA’s and high school transcript, SAT/ACT scores allow colleges to fairly compare applicants.
★ Gives access to scholarship opportunities★ Most colleges require an admission test like SAT/ACT★ SAT/ACT provides students with comprehensive performance feedback★ Taking one by the end of Junior year gives you a score to submit to
colleges, along with your grades and transcript
Which test should I take?Truly, no one can answer this question for you, but if you’d like to learn more about the ways that the SAT and ACT are similar and different the next few
slides may be helpful to you

Success can also mean finishing graduation requirements AND getting started on a promising job skill program!
Earning your HS credits opens doors for career training options as part of your HS plan, and if it’s part of HS it is mostly paid for before you graduate.
Jobs in skilled trades are a great option …
Everyone has their own path...
Apprentice: Traditionally meant “learn on the job, under a master of the trade”
current fields = Boeing (Aerospace), PSE (Lineman), culinary, construction, automotive, railroad, art
Trades: Specialized work you can train for without a college degreecurrent fields = hair/cosmetology, mechanical, pre-nursing, elder care,
firefighting, law enforcement, construction, automotive…too many to list!!!
