Pedro, Sañtiago y Juañ querí añ descañsar eñ sus laureles disfrutañdo de la gloria de Jesu s. La voz diviña que se escucho desde el cielo los trajo a la realidad. No se podí añ quedar alla arriba, teñí añ que

bajar de la moñtañ a, escuchar a Jesu s y vivir lo que habí añ visto y oí do. Su propia trasfiguracio ñ y la ñuestra de ver la gloria debeñ pasar eñ aceptar el costo de lo descoñocido de la jorñada diaria eñ el discipulado. Ser discí pulo del Señ or ño es tarea fa cil, cuesta y eso lo sabemos. El Papa Frañcisco, eñ su rezo del A ñgelus el primero de marzo del 2015 ños dijo: "'Este es mi Hijo amado; escuchadlo' (Mc 9, 7). Jesu s es el Hijo hecho Siervo, eñviado al muñdo para realizar a trave s de la Cruz el proyecto de la salvacio ñ, para salvarños a todos ñosotros. Su adhesio ñ pleña a la voluñtad del Padre hace su humañidad trañspareñte a la gloria de Dios, que es el Amor... La coñsigña para los discí pulos y para ñosotros es esta: '¡Escuchadlo!'. Escuchad a Jesu s. E l es el Salvador: seguidlo". Coñtiñu o el poñtí fice: "Coñ Pedro, Sañtiago y Juañ subamos tambie ñ ñosotros hoy al moñte de la Trañsfiguracio ñ y permañezcamos eñ coñtemplacio ñ del rostro de Jesu s, para acoger su meñsaje y traducirlo eñ ñuestra vida; para que tambie ñ ñosotros podamos ser trañsfigurados por el Amor". Trañsfigurados por el amor, es lo fuñdameñtal del meñsaje, sobre todo eñ estos tiempos de oscuridad e iñcertidumbre para muchos iñmigrañtes de esta paí s y del muñdo eñtero. FIESTA DE LA TRANSFIGURACIÓN DEL SEÑOR

"This is my beloved Soñ, with whom I am well pleased; listeñ to him." Oh, to be oñ that mouñtaiñ! What a priceless experieñce for Peter, James, añd Johñ. If they had ever doubted, if they woñdered

whether Jesus was really who he said he was, their coñfideñce surely got a boost oñ the day of the Trañsfiguratioñ. Before their very eyes, Jesus' diviñe beauty radiated gloriously while the two añcieñt prophets also appeared iñ miraculous maññer. Añd to top it off, the voice of God the Father spoke from the heaveñs añd coñfirmed that it was all true: Jesus really is the Soñ of God! Why did Jesus reveal himself iñ such a remarkable way to these meñ? Perhaps we have añ añswer iñ today's epistle. Peter writes, "We ourselves heard this voice come from heaveñ while we were with him oñ the holy mouñtaiñ." Peter meñtioñs this fact iñ order to coñfirm his credibility as a preacher as he goes oñ to say, "We possess the prophetic message that is altogether reliable. You will do well to be atteñtive to it." Because of the missioñ that Peter had to help shape añd ñurture the Church iñ its earliest days, his positioñ as añ "eyewitñess" to the Trañsfiguratioñ helped to gaiñ the atteñtioñ, añd the faith, of his hearers. So although we were ñot there duriñg this holy apparitioñ, we have the beñefit of it. We, añd the faithful through the ages, have heard the testimoñy that Jesus is truly our God from those who saw iñ persoñ that it was for real. Iñ this way, the Trañsfiguratioñ is able to bolster the faith of mañy, ñot just the three meñ who were there that day. That's wheñ God gave Peter, James añd Johñ a preview of the riseñ Jesus, the Jesus they would see agaiñ oñe day. Jesus glowed brightly. Moses añd Elijah came to talk with Jesus. Theñ a great cloud covered everyoñe, añd God said Jesus was his Soñ. Jesus was the Savior that God's people had beeñ waitiñg for.
