Our ClassesWe run a number of pre-school and recreational gymnastics classes which cater for over 400 boys and girls of differing ages and abilities from 18 months through to teenagers.

Pre Five ClassesThese classes focus on fun gymnastics for pre-school toddlers from 18 months to 4 years and can be their first introduction to gymnastics. The sessions also develop language and listening skills through action songs.

General Classes The general classes provide a fun opportunity for children and young people to develop through gymnastics.

Classes are available for both beginners and intermediate levels. Recreational gymnasts who attend these classes will be given the opportunity to progress through the Scottish Gymnastics Association Proficiency Badge Schemes. This proficiency scheme provides a solid foundation, helping to provide the foundation for teaching high quality gymnastics in a fun, friendly & progressive way.

Display ClassesWe have recently started a new display section within our Gymnastics programme. This gives older gymnasts aged 10 years and above, the opportunity to incorporate dance and music alongside gymnastics.

The classes also provide the children with a chance to show their skills in front of family and friends in an annual display.

Development ClassWe now provide a development class to help young gymnasts from our recreational classes get into competition. The class is for children aged 5 - 8 years and helps provide a pathway into competitive clubs should gymnasts reach the desired requirements.

Prior to finishing for Christmas our gymnastics classes included games and bouncy castle sessions. We were delighted to welcome parents and siblings to attend and see the gymnasts being presented with their hard earned Scottish Proficiency badges and certificates.

Coach EducationWe have had a busy year within our gymnastics coach education programme and we would like to congratulate all our coaches that worked so hard to achieve a UKCC qualification in Gymnastics Coaching:

We have had 2 coaches who are currently sitting their Women’s Artistic Level 2 course Kirstin and Hazel Kirkland.

Kirsty Ferguson and Kayleigh Brown passed their General Level 2 exam. Both Ailsa Mitchell and Hazel Morrison are sitting the exam for their General Level 1. Linsey Paton and Paul MacFarlane passed their Pre School Level 1 course.

Well done!
