A world without gymnastics is a flower without its petals. I love gymnastics. It lets me express myself through actions and it is different. For gymnastics, the main thing is belief and passion. If you want to do something, hold your head high and do it. If we fall, we get back up. What gymnastics means TO ME?

“Gymnastics to me is much more than a sport. It is a passion that helps me get through hard times. A world without gymnastics is a flower without its petals. I love gymnastics. It lets me express myself through actions and it is different. For gymnastics, the main thing is belief and passion. If you want to do something, hold your head high and do it. If we fall, we get back up. If we get hurt, we don’t give up and if we are sore today we will be stronger tomorrow !”

Norbury’s favourite sports!

I am Kairavi from Year 5. My favourite sport is Gymnastics

because I am very good at it and always want to improve and

reach higher standards.

My favourite area of gymnastics is the beam because it helps me

improve my balancing skills, which are also required in other

sports, such as: tennis, football and badminton. I like the beam the

most as it focuses on flexibility and many of our gymnastics

skills, such as: cartwheels, handstands, backward walkovers and

splits. Gymnastics helps me get stronger, build stamina, get

better at my dance moves and improve my body flexibility. I am inspired to do gymnastics from Deepa

Karmakar (a gymnast, who represented India in the Olympics) and Coach Caroline !

Rutu, Year 5 - “My favourite sport is Tennis! I am not very good at it yet but that is exactly why I love it! Every time I try, I get better! I love watching tennis and I love it when someone is playing with all their heart because if you are not good, you still try! My Dad inspires me and Ruhi, my younger sister, and always motivates us. When I play, I have no care in the world and can just enjoy it ! During lockdown, I have continued to try and get better and I have even tried to convince my mum to join in! Any sport is better when you can make others happy , don’t you agree?”

Arya, Year 4

“What I love about trampolining is that

you can learn new skills and you can

have fun playing games on it! It helps

you stay healthy and active and it makes

you feel happy. You can trampoline by

yourself or with other people. The fun

you have while on the trampoline takes

your mind off other things you are

worried and/or stressed about”

Vihaan in Year 3 tells us about his favourite sport!
