The psalmist states (Psalm 50:23) that thanksgiving is the sacrifice that best glorifies
God. Welcome to worship as we thank and praise the Lord together.
If you are a first time guest, we would like to get more acquainted and minister to you more effectively. Please take a “Guest Information” card from the chair back pocket, complete both sides and place in the offering plate. At the conclusion of the service please stop by the Welcome Center to receive a Thank You gift for visiting with us. It is our prayer that you will be blessed by today’s worship.

Please sign up for a time slot to “man the booth” on the bulletin board outside the sanctuary. The WMU/Baptist Women are taking the lead on this project, however we want the entire church to feel a part of each undertaking. We invite all our church families to come and participate in the first Family Night OCC packing party on Thursday, August 25

opportunity for parents to show children how to not just share but give to those less fortunate. Dinner will be served at 6:00 pm with the packing party immediately following. Because of scheduling conflicts, there will be another opportunity for you to come on Saturday morning, August 27
th beginning at
10:00 a.m. Please join us at one or both events if you want to help.

God’s Plan for Your Life Are you certain you have eternal life and will go to Heaven when you die? What would you say if you were standing before God right now and He asked you, “Why should I let you into My Heaven?” God’s Purpose: God loves us and has a purpose for our lives. The Bible says it this way: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16) Our Need: As we search for meaning in life, we discover that our sinful nature keeps us from fulfilling God’s purpose for our lives. We are all sinners by nature and by choice. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) God’s Provision: God is holy and just and must punish sin. Yet He loves us and provides forgiveness for our sin. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6) Our Response: The only way Jesus can affect our lives is for us to receive Him. We must surrender to Jesus as Lord. “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved” (Rom. 10:9-10) My Commitment: “Dear Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God and died to forgive me of my sins. I know I have sinned. I ask You to forgive me. I turn from my sins, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. I want to live for You the rest of my life. Amen.”
