This booklet provides you with the most important information for the competition. Please feel free to ask your volunteer or any member of the organization committee for all other inquiries.

By offering this competition, we want to strengthen the interest in synchronized skating, promote this team sport and support SyS-teams in Germany and Europe. Especially through our juvenile-, basic novice and mixed-age-competition, we hope to enlarge the synchronized skating basis.

The “NRW Trophy for synchronized Skating 2018” will be an international “Inter-Club-Competition” and will be conducted in accordance with the ISU Constitution, ISU General Regulations and Special Regulations & Technical Rules for Synchronized Skating as well as applicable ISU Communications (for season 2017-2018) , including ISU Communications 2091 and 2084 (well balanced program). The teams must belong to an ISU Member (Rule 130, paragraph 7), the ages must be within the limits specified in Rule 108, paragraph 3. All skaters must qualify with regard to eligibility according to Rule 102 and participation and citizenship requirements according to Rule 109.

INFORMATION

All information will be provided during the event. For any inquiries, please contact your volunteer or ask any other person of the organization committee.

LIABILITY

In accordance with ISU Rule 119, the Organizer accepts no liability for injury or damage sustained by competitors or officials. The Organizer will not provide participant insurance coverage for the event. Each Member or Club is expected to provide its own insurance protection.

MEDICAL ATTENDANCE

The Organizer will provide emergency medical services for all participants during the competition and official practice. In any case of a medical emergency, please contact your volunteer or the next member of the organizing committee.

MEALS

All day long and during the competition, the bistro “Kufenstübchen” at the ice rink will provide meals and drinks at one’s own expense, for example: water, coffee, tea, coke, lemonade, beer, snacks, cakes (german Kuchen), pretzel, donuts, bratwurst, bockwurst, bami-noodels, currywurst, chicken-nuggets, french fries, hot-dogs, schnitzel etc.

In each changing room there will be water, fruits, vegetables and energy bars free of charge available.

LEGEND to MAP

G1-G10 are changing rooms. Due to the number of teams, we can’t provide an allocated changing room for the whole competition day for all teams. Please see the timetables for your changing room allocation and detailed times! In the ice rink we will have separated areas, where you can store your luggage and your belongings in the meantime. Security persons will observe this area. But please don’t leave any articles of value in your luggage. Please be so kind and put your bags and wardrobe aside while you are not using the changing rooms as other teams need space while using the same changing room. The tribune in the ice rink can be used as recreation room and lounge. The ice rink will be heated during the whole day. WU1-WU6 as well as the warm up areas outside are areas for warm up. Please don’t use loud music at the inside warm up areas and be quiet.

KS on the side vis-à-vis the main entrance is the Kufenstübchen, where you can buy meals and drinks. CR is the room for the referees and judges.

ENTERING THE EVENT

MAIN ENTRANCE/REGISTRATION DESK

The registration desk is located at the main entrance (see map). Please hand over your missing forms, money etc. there. You will receive some information and your badges. Your volunteers will pick you up here as well. All spectators will also use this entrance.

At the registration, you will meet your volunteer. They will take care of you for the whole competition day and help you how to find your changing rooms or other warm up areas. They have a detailed time schedule and will take care that you will be on time. Please follow their instructions.

DURING THE EVENT

CHANGING ROOMS

Your volunteer will take you to your changing room (G1 - G10 on the plan). Some teams will have their own changing area during the whole day. They can leave their baggage there, but the organization committee does not take liability for any losses – so please don’t bring any valuables. Due to the number of teams, we can’t provide for all teams a fix allocated changing room for the whole competition day. As all changing rooms will be full, please put your baggage aside when you are not allocated to a changing room or while you are not using you’re changing room so that other teams have enough space to get ready. Please watch the timetables for your changing room allocation!

Here is the list with the allocation of the changing rooms for each team. You can find them on the plan, but there will also be signs for each changing room. Please only use your changing room during these times and take out your luggage when you are finished.

Only accredited people will have access to the warm up areas and changing rooms. Security people will take care of that.

WARM UP

We provide warm up areas inside the ice rink (WU1 - WU6) - if it is raining or too cold.

We recommend: If the weather conditions allow it, you can use the space outside in front of the designated warm up areas. All areas will be provided with one power outlet. You can find them on the plan, but there will also be signs for each warm up area and your volunteers will guide the teams.

Please be so kind to not turn up the volume of your music too high if you are using the inside warm up areas during the competition. We prefer if you are using the outside space for warm up. The weather forecast for Neuss on Saturday, 17th is +8 - 10° C and dry

HOW TO ENTER AND LEAVE THE ICE

During the training and the competition, the teams will enter and leave the ice vis-à-vis the judges panel. Please see the plan attached.

OFFICIAL TRAINING (12 MINUTES)

During the training, the music for all three categories participating at the NRW-Trophy for SYS 2018 will be played 2 times. First after 2 minutes, second after 7 minutes after the start of the official training or earlier if you give us a sign.

OPENING CEREMONY

At the Opening Ceremony, each team is requested to participate with all skaters. The Opening Ceremony will be held at 16:00 h (see time schedule). We invite all teams to attend at the opening ceremony completely.

All teams will enter the ice from the 2 sides designated on the opening ceremony plan. Your volunteer will take you to these entrances on time. Please be ready for the opening ceremony at latest at 15:50 h at the ice rink. Dear Teams, please be ready for the opening ceremony at the scoreboard or main entrance side depending on where you are assigned. Your names will be called by the speaker in the following order. Please skate one complete round on the ice and line up as you can see in the picture.

Audience At 15:30 h we will open the doors for the audience.

CLOSING CEREMONY – PODIUMS

After the competition, all teams are requested to be present on the ice. After around 10 - 15 minutes the closing ceremony will be started beginning with the ceremony for juvenile, followed by basic novice and mixed age.

All participants must be present on ice for the announcement of the result and for the prize awarding ceremony. All participants must be part of the closing ceremony and follow the organization decided by the Organization Committee. Please enter the ice and line up as you did in the opening ceremony.

After the closing ceremony everyone will be invited to party on the ice.
