Dear Parents: Albert Einstein said that, “the true measure of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.” You might not think this, but being a disciple of Jesus Christ requires a great deal of imagination. It is not enough to simply attend to facts, rules, and rituals and consider the job done of being a practicing Catholic. Quite contrarily, the Gospels demand creativity, especially of trying to discern how to put God’s Word into human actions to properly serve God’s children and do His will. He wants to see how creative we can become with the free will He has given us. Jesus was never a top down

administrator. Not once did He ever demand conformity over conversion or sacrifice over mercy. When we read the Bible, or when we see Jesus in others, we should imagine the great variety of ways we can get in touch with our compassionate, forgiving, and unconditionally loving God through these experiences.

Romans 12:2 - Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.

Peace and prayers,

Pam Steinkirchner Principal

Help Fill a BL Bus with Baby Supplies for Hurricane Relief: Bishop Lynch High School and

Friar Athletics are teaming up with noted Houston philanthropist and legendary BL grad Jim “Mattress Mack" McIngvale '69 to bring relief supplies to Louisiana residents devastated by Hurricane Ida. Our goal is to fill a Bishop Lynch bus with much-needed baby supplies to be delivered to Mattress Mack's Gallery Furniture store next week. These donations will be added to Mattress Mack's relief convoys which will continue to bring assistance to hurricane victims. A donation-filled bus will accompany the football team to Houston on Friday, September 10 for their game against St. Pius X. You can help by bringing the following new baby items to the school’s main entrance during school hours starting Friday, September 3 through 4:00 PM on Thursday, September 9: Diapers (any size), wipes, formula, bottles, blankets, toys, onesies. Baby item donations will also be accepted at the BL home volleyball games on Tuesday, September 7. Look for the donation bin at the concession stand between the Competition and Legacy gyms. BL student-athletes will be helping to unload/load the donations. Let’s fill the BL bus to help our neighbors in need!
