REMOTE TEACHING SESSION: 10.30am – 11.30am daily
Prep students will receive a 1 hour face to face remote teaching session with their teacher each day. These sessions will be
run using Webex and will focus on Reading, Writing, Maths or Inquiry.
The link to your child’s Webex meeting is listed in the table below. Instructions on how to access your child’s Webex meeting
are available on Sentral.
Advice for accessing your child’s Webex meeting:
Please log on 5 minutes before the start time.
Ask your child to organise the resources they will need prior to the start time.
When signing in, please use your child’s name as this will be the name displayed to their teacher during the meeting.

Listen to the story ‘Jack and The
Beanstalk’ and draw who was in the
story, what happened in the story,
where the story took place and when
the story happened.

Tea Party
Step 1: Choose 2 teddies/toys and set
up a tea party for the three of you.
Step 2: Choose 6 snacks from your
cupboard. Share these snacks between
you and your guests at the tea party.
Step 3: Write down the sentence-

Step 4: Repeat using 9 and 12 snacks.
Step 5: Upload a photo of your tea party and one of your written sentences to Seesaw.

Challenge: Write a sentence about the
fact that you have drawn.
For example: Tiny caterpillars hatch from
butterfly eggs.
Support: An adult or older sibling in your
house to write the sentence and student
to copy underneath.
Challenge: Edit your writing:
Do you have a capital letter at the
start of your sentence and for

Do you have finger spaces?

Scrapbook/paper
Coloured pencils or markers
Spelling
Before you begin, make sure you have a
piece of paper or scrapbook and a pencil.
Step 1: Log on to Seesaw.
Step 2: Listen to the spelling video
assigned to you and follow the
instructions.
Step 3: Write down the sounds that you
hear.
Please Note: you can pause the video at
any time to write down the sounds before
moving to the next sounds/words.
Optional: Upload a photo onto Seesaw of
your handwriting.
Please note: This activity will not be
available on Seesaw until the Wednesday
the 19th of August.

What is Hefting?

• estimate or test the weight of

holding or lifting it.
EXAMPLE:
Step 1: Choose an item from around your

hand and use hefting to find 3 objects
around the house that are lighter than
your first object and 3 items that are
heavier than your first object.

tricky words to keep the
cards.
Step 3: Each time you get a
pair, collect the 2 cards and
