REMOTE TEACHING SESSION: 10.30am – 11.30am daily
Prep students will receive a 1 hour face to face remote teaching session with their teacher each day. These sessions will be
run using Webex and will focus on Reading, Writing, Maths or Inquiry.
The link to your child’s Webex meeting is listed in the table below. Instructions on how to access your child’s Webex meeting
are available on Sentral.
Advice for accessing your child’s Webex meeting:
Please log on 5 minutes before the start time.
Ask your child to organise the resources they will need prior to the start time.
When signing in, please use your child’s name as this will be the name displayed to their teacher during the meeting.

If students do not have either their

lesson.

take their monkey or mini teacher on an
adventure! Students to go outside and
take a picture of their monkey or
teacher on an object.

Step 1: Watch the Hairy Bear story

Step 2: Using your picture from
yesterday, draw what happened in the
middle of the story under the heading
“middle”.
Step 3: Draw what happened at the
end of the story under the heading
“end”.
Step 4: Label your picture using
stretchy snake to sound out the letters.
Challenge: Write a sentence for each
part of the story (beginning, middle and
end).
Adventure Time.
Step 1: Students to collect either the
drawn monkey from the previous Maths
lessons or the mini teacher that was
made during Term 2.
If students do not have either of
these, draw your own monkey before
starting the lesson.

Step 1: Watch the story Hairy Bear on

Step 2: Using your pictures from
yesterday, retell the story to someone
in your house. Make sure you start
with the beginning, then the middle,
then the end.
Step 3: Record yourself retelling the
story of Hairy Bear. Upload the video
on Seesaw.
Writing Recount
Re read your writing and make sure it
makes sense.
Using a green pencil, look for any
punctuation (full stops, capital letters
and spaces) you have already included
and underline it.
With the same green pencil, edit your
work so that each sentence begins with
a capital letter and ends with a full stop.
Challenge: Add some more detail to
your sentence. Try to use some exciting

Re-read your recount from yesterday.
Draw three pictures to match your
sentences about what happened in the
story.
Sharing with family.
Students to work with someone in their
house. Choose a food item from your
home. For example – fruit, lollies,
biscuits. Get 10 of these and put them
on a plate in front of you. Give one
plate to the student and one plate to
the other person.
Student to share the 10 food items
equally between themselves and the
person from their house.
This can be done by giving one to each
person at a time and continuing this
until they are evenly shared between
the two people.
How many food items does each
person have? Do they have the
same amount?
Students to draw a picture of what this
looks like.

Memory Game
Step 1: Students write down
each sound (v, ng, oo, y, x
and ch) twice on a piece of
paper.
Step
2: Cut out each sound and
double check you have 2 of
each.
Step 3: Turn them over on
the ground or table so you
can’t see the letters.
Step 4: Students choose two
letters at a time and check if
they match.
If they match, you can keep
and collect them.
If they don’t match, put them
back and pick new sounds.
Step 1: Students to practise
reading their writing to
themselves with a loud, clear
voice.
Step 2: Students to practise
reading their writing to
someone in their house using
a loud, clear voice.
Step 3: Students to either
record themselves reading
their writing with a loud, clear
