It is a Government Directive that we contact you, so please make every effort to answer the phone
when we call! Thanks.

Nursery & Pre-School Funding —
action required!
All parents of children in our Pre-School or Nursery who receive funding towards their child’s sessions will have received an
e-mail last week.
We need you to confirm your child’s attendance for the Summer Term if, and when we reopen. This is to ensure that
Warwickshire County Council pay for your child's place.
Please reply to the e-mail that we have sent with your name, your child’s name and confirm the hours that they attend.
Please e-mail [email protected] if you have any questions or did not receive the e-mail.
Firstly, a big thank you to everyone for your support with all the home learning you have being doing, super effort, well done! As this situation looks to be continuing from Monday 11th May we are going to start using two
online systems Google Classroom (https://classroom.google.com) and the Welearn365 Platform (http://www.welearn365.com). These resources are designed to provide support with remote learning
allowing children to complete work at home.
So for all those children currently in Nursery, Reception, Years 1 & 2, we shall be calling you over the next few days to confirm your child’s school email address and their password to enable your child’s access. Please answer this call as without it you will be unable to access YOUR CHILD’S HOME LEARNING. Guides on how to then access
Google Classroom and Welearn365 will be made available on the school website, www.exhallcedars.org
Please be vigilant about your child’s online safety whilst accessing the internet. You may find it useful to refer to our e-safety information https://www.exhallcedars.org/ourpolicies/
Please note: Children that access Pre School and those currently in Nursery that are due to start Re-ception in September 2021 will continue to access Home Learning via the website. This is because our younger age
groups do not have welearn email addresses.
Thank you.
Home Learning - Google Classrooms
This is a really difficult time for us all but especially for those of you who are at home all day with your children! We don’t want anyone, either parents or children, to be worried about the home learning.
The activities planned, are so that your children can continue to practice their learning at home, to be more
prepared for when we return to school. We don’t expect you to be ‘homeschooling’ all day every day!
Use these activities to dip in and out of a few times a day, alongside playing in the garden and going for a daily exercise walk as a family. Take care of yourselves and each other! Stay home stay safe!
Don’t Worry!
All offers for Warwickshire Schools have now been made. You should have
received an e-mail in the on-line portal confirming your child’s place for September.
www.warwickshire.gov.uk/admissions
If you have not had anything, then you
urgently need to contact the Admissions Team by e-mail only.
[email protected] We are unable to help in School, as we do not
have access to their systems.

child.
Using the access code BEAR on
registration will provide access to all four guides for a lifetime and it will never expire.
If your child is living away from the address that school currently has for them, you MUST let us
know as soon as possible. They may be living with relatives or staying with a
different parent - even if only for part of the week or a temporary move.

Message from Mrs Kapadia
Hi Everyone, Just wanted to say a huge thank you to
everyone has donated to my Marie Curie Daffodil Appeal.
The fundraiser has now closed. I have managed to raise a
staggering £1050.00, so once again, “Thank You” so much for your kind words and
support, Marie Curie will value these vital funds at this critical time.
URGENT!!! FUNDING FOR SCHOOL MEALS It has been brought to my attention that 'Free School Meals' funding is causing some confusion. UNIVERSAL SCHOOL MEALS All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are provided with a daily school lunch under the 'Universal Meals' funding. Government definition - Universal infant free school meals (UIFSM) provides funding for all government funded schools to provide a daily school meal to pupils in Reception, Year1 & Year2. FREE SCHOOL MEALS (FSM) Some parents might also qualify for Free School Meals funding depending upon household income and/or benefits. This is additional funding that school receives to ensure the children have access to wider range of resources. Families who receive at least one of the following are eligible for free school meals:
income support
income-based Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA)
income-related employment and support allowance (ESA)
guarantee element of state pension credit
Universal Credit (with an annual income of less than £7,400)
Both income-based and contribution-based JSA/ESA if you receive the same amount for both. You should also qualify if you receive both but the income-based amount is greater, but not if the contribution-based amount is greater.
Families who are awarded Child Tax Credit and have an annual income, as assessed by HMRC, not in excess of £16,190 are also eligible to claim free school meals providing there is no entitlement to Working Tax Credit (unless in respect of a 4-week ‘run-on’)
If you have applied before and have not been eligible, please re-apply again if your circumstances have changed. You can re-apply each time your circumstances change. All that is needed is your National Insurance Number, the system does an automatic check and you will receive an instant answer. Once you are eligible, this will remain in place until 2022, to protect families during the Universal Credit transition. Once your child is in Year 3 or above a school lunch costs, at current rate, £2.25 per day. However, should your child be eligible for FSM, this will be transferred to the Junior School and your child will receive free school lunches. Therefore, we are asking all parents/carers of children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 to apply for this funding. During the current school closures, each eligible child can access a £15 voucher per week which can be spent in the majority of the supermarkets. When we return to school, as a thank you, each new child will receive £15 uniform voucher for the Toye, Kenning and Spencer shop and will be eligible for free school milk. If your child is eligible, the school will receive an automatic notification. We will then be in touch regarding the voucher set up.
