WOW! Can you believe it-here we are, almost finished with the first semester! Teachers, mark your calendars for next Monday and Tuesday (Dec. 8th & 9th) for our next “Coffee with Coaches” open forum. As before, we will be available in the media conference room from 9:30-3:45 on those days. Please come by to discuss any thoughts, concerns, opinions, questions, etc. Anything that is shared with us is strictly confidential; we want you to know that it is a safe zone. We look forward to seeing you! The coaches also encourage teachers, especially those new to our block schedule, to review the testing bell schedule for December 15-18. The class periods for testing will be 115 minutes long, so it is important to have enough activities scheduled to fill the time if your exam does not require the entire testing block. There will be no Power Hour/Club during that week. The students are getting excited because they are looking forward to the long winter break (and so are we!).

This excitement may require review of class/school rules and procedures. If there is anything we can help you with, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Other Announcements

Attention All Teachers! Round 1 of the Spelling Bee was a huge success! We will be conducting Round 2 of the Bee on Wednesday, December 10th during Power Hour. ELA teachers, special passes will be placed in your mailboxes to distribute to your students who have made it to the second round. The PTSA has graciously provided us with some generous prizes for the final round in January, including a $50 gift card to Best Buy for the 1st place winner! Students who make it to Round 2 and do not attend will be disqualified, so please remember to give the students the provided pass. Round 2 should not be too long, so students will be allowed back to their Power Hour class once the round is finished. Thanks for your cooperation--this is the best Bee yet! ~ Miss Morales & Ms. Zarcone

1. Holiday food boxes - we will be

taking donations once again to

offer our pantry backpack students

a food box December

18th. Holiday themed foods and

cereal would be great for the

boxes.

2. Holiday Student Sponsors -

Debbie is posting a list in her office

of students we would like to offer a

small gift or gift card to the family

to assist with the holidays. Students

will return a small wish list by

Tuesday to participate. A list will

also be emailed to the staff. Let

Debbie know if you can assist

making a gift from our school

possible to the student. Gifts will be

picked up by the parents

December 18th.

3. Conferences - make sure you

are taking notes (hosting teacher)

and returning a copy of the form to

the grade level counselor. For ESE

students, Susan Sharpe should also

get a copy if they are 6th or 8th

grade.

4. Thursday Counseling Groups - will

not meet again until January

8th. The times for the remaining

sessions will be rotated so the same

period of time is not missed for the

students in the group. Rotation

schedule will be sent out before

winter break. Second semester

groups will start at the end of

January or first of February. Submit

names to Debbie Wolfrum for social

personal and conflict

management.

5. 8th Grade Teachers - high school

registration will begin the last week

in January with our students

through history classes. More

information to follow after winter

break regarding the registration

forms and procedure. See Debbie

if you have questions.

Thank You for the food donations

to assist with Thanksgiving food

boxes. We sponsored over 20

families for Thanksgiving with a food

box and small gift card for a meat

item. All of our pantry backpack

students had a food box available

for pick up here at Milwee!

Thank you and have a great week!
