Baumana Gardens these days is as beautiful as a Swiss can-ton, all in honour of the celebra-tion of the Swiss National Day.Since 1891, in Russia the 1st of August has always been the Swiss National Day. The date refers to a historic alliance con-cluded in 1291 by the three

cantons of Uri, Schwyz and Un-terwalden.

To commemorate this special Swiss day, the Bauman Gar-dens will not only decorate the park as a Swiss canton, but also bring Swiss musicians and deli-cious Swiss food.

5th annual exhibition of Hybrid Art Until the 28th of August

This year, Lexus Hybrid Art is marking its fifth anniversary with an exhibition at VDNKH’s Optika Pavilion. In studying the future as a territory for materi-alizing today’s fantasies, Lex-us Hybrid Art 2014 curator Bo-gomir Doringer invites viewers to be like Joyce’s Ulysses or the heroes of Stanley Kubrick’s A Space Odyssey, and set off onto a journey to the horizons of temporarily indefinite states of being and unfinished pro-cesses.

A collective fantasy of the fu-ture, expressed in ten original tales, is brought to life by means of modern technologies in the historic interiors of the Optika Pavilion. These episodes can be seen in any order, creating from disparate images a mosaic of the main theme.
