Two Men Saw JesusBible Passage: Luke 24:13-35
Key Bible Verse: Acts 11:20
Life ApplicationI can learn people told that Jesus was alive.
Level of Biblical Learning (Jesus)Jesus died on the cross and is alive.
Think of the amazing events that occurred long ago. The stone was rolled away. The disciples and the women were confused and wondered where Jesus' body was. Jesus appeared to Mary Magdalene and she ran to tell the disciples (see John 20:1-18).•Read Luke 24:13-14. Notice the first few words.
According to Luke, this event took place the same day the tomb was discovered empty. Jesus had shown Himself to Mary Magdalene and now was about to show Himself again. Imagine the men's conversation. When was the last time you talked about the events of Jesus' death and resurrection with someone?
•Read Luke 24:15-17. Jesus suddenly appeared. Do you think the men were so engrossed in their conversation that they did not hear Jesus approach? Why did God plan for the men not to recognize Jesus? Jesus walked alongside the men and joined in their conversation.
•Read Luke 24:18-24. Jesus asked the men to tell about the events they discussed. The men could not believe this man did not know about the events. Still, they told Jesus what had happened. Do you remember all of the events? Can you tell the preschoolers what happened?
•Read Luke 24:25-27. Jesus questioned the men about believing the Scriptures. Jesus then taught the men what the Scriptures said about Him.
•Read Luke 24:28-35. The men asked Jesus to join them for the evening. The men shared bread together. The eyes of the men were opened and they recognized Jesus. Then Jesus disappeared. The men returned to tell the disciples they had seen Jesus. They knew Jesus was alive. Do you believe Jesus is alive? Help the children understand people told that Jesus was alive.

Two Men Saw JesusBased on Luke 24:13-35
Two disciples walked along the road from Jerusalem to Emmaus (eh MAY uhs), a village seven miles away. The men talked about Jesus' death. While they talked, Jesus appeared and walked beside them. The men did not know He was Jesus. Jesus asked the men to tell Him what they were talking about.•Ask: "What do you think the men told Jesus?"•Move to next set of footprints (#2).

Some disciples went to the tomb and found it empty, too, but they did not see Jesus. Angels told the women that Jesus was alive. •Quiz: "How do you think the two men walking
with Jesus felt?"•Move to next set of footprints (#3).

When the men came near Emmaus, they invited Jesus to stay with them. •Explore: "What do you think Jesus did?"•Move to next set of footprints (#4).
As the men sat down to eat, Jesus thanked God for the bread and gave some to the men. Suddenly the men recognized Jesus. Jesus disappeared from their sight. The two men were so excited they returned to Jerusalem. The men found the disciples and told them Jesus was
