Week 9 Term 3, 10th September 2014 Dear Parents, Sue Mackay Principal
Quote for the Week:
Week 10 Term 4, 13th December 2016
Dear Parents, On behalf of our wonderful staff at Kororo Public School, I would like to extend to
the community, our very best wishes for the Christmas holidays and for the New Year.
In amongst the hectic organisation which is the preparation for Christmas, is the perfect
time of the year to reflect on the achievements of 2016 for our school.
It is has been a very rewarding year in many ways - academically, on the sporting field and culturally. The staff work with dedication to ensure that each child has a program of learning that reflects their needs and their aspirations. We are looking forward to building on our achievements and ensuring 2017 is another very proactive year. Have a wonderful holiday season with family and friends.
Stay safe – see you in the new year!

Deputy Report
What a pleasure it has been to be the relieving Deputy Principal for the past three terms after Mrs O’dell’s retirement. These were big shoes to fill. I have loved the opportunity to make a difference at a whole school level. There have been ups and downs throughout this year but one thing that has stood out is the exceptional team that is Kororo. All members of staff, parents / carers and students are what make our school so great and for that I say thank you. It would be remise of me not to acknowledge the exceptional staff who have assisted me every day in this position. All the ladies in the front office and Greg our General Assistant always making themselves available to assist me even when they themselves are often extremely busy. All the teaching staff who make my day by simply popping in and keeping me abreast of what is happening in their class or on their Stage. The dedicated Executive staff who have supported me in the role of Deputy Principal and finally to Sue Mackay our school Principal who whether she knew it or not has mentored me to further develop my skills as a school leader. Students to you I say, “Don’t ever stop saying hello as I pass by with your effervescent smiles, for that is one of the things that has truly made my year one of complete joy.” I send out only good wishes to every member of this unique school community for the Christmas and New Year period hoping for nothing but joy and prosperity for you all. I also wish Mrs Leonie Smith all the best as the newly appointed Deputy Principal of Kororo who I have no doubts will thoroughly enjoy her appointment as this is a truly unique and exceptional school. Carissa Atwood Deputy Principal (Relieving)
PRESENTATION DAY PRIZE WINNERS
Congratulations to all the students who have won an
award at Presentation Day. We have asked each child
who won a Class Award or one of the Special Awards if
they would like a book or sport voucher.
Their choices will be either a gift voucher from Amart
Sports or from the Book Warehouse. The value
depending on the award they have won is $20 for a Class
Award, $40 for a High Achievement Award i.e. Citizenship
Award and $70 for the Dux and Sportsperson of the Year
Award.
If your child is a recipient of these awards, please ensure
they understand the value of them as they can’t be
replaced if lost. When we have the vouchers we will give
them to the children.
