My father is a pilot. He always told me that if he ever made a mistake, the plane would crash cause the death of 300 and himself. My dad raised me with the idea that mistakes cannot be tolerated. It could be the reason why I hate making mistakes. The reality is no one is perfect and we all make mistakes. Some mistakes we make are deliberate and other mistakes are genuine lapses of memory or judgement. In John 8:1-11 (NLT) there is the story of the woman who made a deliberate mistake and was caught in adultery. The por+on of this passage which I am focusing on is, All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” This is a very surprising passage because even though the woman deliberately made a mistake she is not condemned to a punishment. So o,en I have paid a price for an unintended lapse of judgement. In this passage, a serious deliberate mistake is not punished. What amazing grace this is? So how do we respond when someone has wronged us? What are we teaching or modelling to our children regarding how to respond to those who offend us? What advice do we give our children when they are being pressured on the playground by peers? The answers are not simple as the circumstances can be complex and deliberate targe+ng might be happening. As a school we have a zero tolerance to bullying. No excep+on. We have an an+-bullying policy and a bully escala+on procedure, BUT, what does this mean in a Chris+an School where there is grace and forgiveness taught? Bullying is not tolerated at PCS. If a child is feeling uncomfortable, fearful or in danger at school they need to: Express a strong verbal, “NO” to the circumstance and situaon. Try move away from the circumstance and seek a teacher /adult help. Not respond or escalate the situaon with verbal or physical aggression. Make sure their parent knows when they get home. Working together we can ensure no child is bullied. PCS has been proac+ve in the values we teach and uphold. I am not wri+ng this ar+cle because of a bullying issue. The intent of this ar+cle is rather to focus on how we respond as a community when we do feel aggrieved. How do we show grace and forgiveness? How do we reach reconcilia+on? For me the first part of the process is to recognise that I am o,en wrong and I make mistakes. I need to own these mistakes and accept injus+ce when others make a mistake in judging me. Secondly, to realise the person confron+ng or offending me is probably making a mistake. Lastly, I consider how does Christ is modelled and expects me to respond. The only legi+mate way to respond is the way Christ has modelled for us. Grace and forgiveness. Thank you for partnering with us and remember our doors are always open to you. My father is a pilot. He always told me that if he ever made a mistake, the plane would crash cause the

death of 300 and himself. My dad raised me with the idea that mistakes cannot be tolerated. It could

be the reason why I hate making mistakes. The reality is no one is perfect and we all make mistakes.

Some mistakes we make are deliberate and other mistakes are genuine lapses of memory or

judgement.

In John 8:1-11 (NLT) there is the story of the woman who made a deliberate mistake and was caught in

adultery. The por+on of this passage which I am focusing on is, “All right, but let the one who has

never sinned throw the first stone!” This is a very surprising passage because even though the woman

deliberately made a mistake she is not condemned to a punishment. So o,en I have paid a price for an

unintended lapse of judgement. In this passage, a serious deliberate mistake is not punished. What

amazing grace this is?

So how do we respond when someone has wronged us? What are we teaching or modelling to our

children regarding how to respond to those who offend us? What advice do we give our children when

they are being pressured on the playground by peers? The answers are not simple as the

circumstances can be complex and deliberate targe+ng might be happening. As a school we have a

zero tolerance to bullying. No excep+on. We have an an+-bullying policy and a bully escala+on

procedure, BUT, what does this mean in a Chris+an School where there is grace and forgiveness

taught? Bullying is not tolerated at PCS. If a child is feeling uncomfortable, fearful or in danger at

school they need to:

• Express a strong verbal, “NO” to the circumstance and situaon.

• Try move away from the circumstance and seek a teacher /adult help.

• Not respond or escalate the situaon with verbal or physical aggression.

• Make sure their parent knows when they get home.

Working together we can ensure no child is bullied. PCS has been proac+ve in the values we teach and

uphold. I am not wri+ng this ar+cle because of a bullying issue. The intent of this ar+cle is rather to

focus on how we respond as a community when we do feel aggrieved. How do we show grace and

Therefore, go and make disciples of all

the naons, bapsing them in the name

of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey

all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always,

even to the end of the age. – Ma0hew 28:19-20

Year 5/6 Excursion to Parliament House Year 5/6 Excursion to Parliament House Year 5/6 Excursion to Parliament House Year 5/6 Excursion to Parliament House

On Tuesday 14th March, two of our upper primary classes visited Parliament House. This excursion tied in neatly with our Integrated topic which has focussed on Federation and the development of Australia as a nation and leads nicely into our next unit which is focussed on Australian democracy, government and citizenship.

Mr Mark Twine 5/6 Teacher

On Tuesday 5/6T and 5/6K went on an excursion to the NT’s Parliament House. When we got there we went to the main chamber and watched Nicole Manison present a bill for police to wear video cameras while on duty. Afterwards, Lia Finocchiaro, Eva Lawler and Tony Sieves came to talk to us. Eva Lawler said she wanted to give our school $300, 000! Next, we had a look at the Speaker’s portraits. After that we had a look at the World War II stuff. What creeped me out was that a piece of bomb recovered from the wreckage looked like the NT! Then we had lunch and our guides

provided us with cordial and a biscuit. After lunch, we learned about voting. There are two types of voting, 1) you choose your favourite and 2) which is called “preferential” voting is when you number your ballot paper your most favourite to least favourite. After that we went back to school. I liked our excursion and in the future I would love to go on more. Holly Gray Year 6

Kingdom Kids are learning about God’s promises especially with Abraham

and Sarah being gi,ed with baby Isaac.

Children are truly a blessing from our Lord.

Children’s responses to ,

“What do you know about babies?”

Skye: “They are lile.”

Mitchell: “I know my baby’s name, he is Finn.”

Kaitlyn: “I know that they are two and I know that they drink milk.”

Chloe: “They have ten lile fingers and ten lile toes.”

Emanuoil: “Babies wear clothes. I was a baby in mummy’s tummy.”

Ella: “When I was a baby I was in mummy’s tummy.”

Abigail: “I like to chase them. Babies cry.”

Emily and Navana: “The baby was Isaac. Sarah was his mummy. God made.”

Isaac: “I forget his dad’s name. Babies grow in mummy’s tummies.”

Noah: “They’re cute.”

It was also a privilege last Tuesday, to have a dozen people on a Child Australia

Educa+onal Leader Study tour come and visit the Kingdom Kids. They viewed both the

outside and inside environments, gleaned informa+on about the Walker Learning

Approach, our procedures and care for the children. There were many ques+ons asked

and posi+ve responses about our amazing centre. One visitor commented that she

would consider doing her prac+cal teaching at Kingdom Kids. Last week, Kingdom Kids

also had a visitor who is researching for her Bachelor in Early Childhood degree and she

was documen+ng ideas with our literacy implementa+on.
