NETBALL Report - Last weekend Kai Iwi A played WIS D3 and came away with an 18-6 win. What a fantastic “make ya proud” game it was for Jane and I. The ball was flying into our goal with short sharp passes and some awesome footwork from Emma! Keila and Cara, you both played a fantastic defense game in the first half. Congratulations to Cara for getting Player of the Day. FROG is working girls!! YOU make it happen so keep up the great work. Our shooters, Anabel and Emma, worked smoothly and swiftly together, knowing where each other was going to be, and the result was some loud “WHOOP WHOOP’ hollering from our supporters at the “Nothing but Net” shots. At times competing for the ball was physically hard and WIS fought back hard. Great team work girls - it shows how RESILIENT you are. See you at practice on Thurs-day and don’t forget to arrive 20minutes before your game! Until next week,

Louise “Proud as Punch” Hartell Draw - Saturday 18th June Yr 3/4 Future Ferns (Kai Iwi B) - 8.30-9.30am Coaches to meet at 8.20am in the Pavilion. Kai Iwi A - KI A vs WIS D1 Ct 8 11.15am

HOCKEY Report - Yesterday our kids came up against a very strong and skilled Fordell team. They showed us from the start they meant business, scoring 2 goals in a row in the first few minutes, but we came to play too and weren’t going to let them win without a fight. With Mason using his stick skills and speed he managed to get the ball past the Fordell players and goalie to score Kai Iwi a well-deserved goal. And between Jackson, Emma and Yuri they stopped Fordell from scoring 3 goals which was fantastic. I was very proud as they had to keep their eye on the ball because that ball was flying towards the goal at a hard, fast pace over and over again. We might not have won the game but I was very happy with just how resilient our Kai Iwi kids were. Not one of them ever gave up and played very hard until the final hooter blew. Well done kids, we will get them next time. Player of the Day went to Jackson.
