Working from home!
Week 7
As week 7 draws to a close we look forward to the VE Day 75th anniversary celebrations. On many platforms COVID 19 has been labeled as our war, the sacrifices our grandparents and great grandparents made so that we could enjoy our freedom is well worth celebrating. Alt-hough we all have a little less freedom at the moment this will pass, and, is a small sacrifice in comparison.
We are all so proud of our Art & Design students who have not disappointed us with their google classroom uploads this week.
Year 9 star of the week goes to Alicia Rout for her Roy Lichtenstein’s inspired portrait and the year 10 star of the week goes to Sherie Corney.
Many thanks for your continued support.
Stay safe.

Year 9 students have been studying Roy
Lichtenstein's portraits and John Romita’s
comic illustrations. They had to create a
pastiche (in the style of) to their favourite
artist.
Some great work produced by Izzy,
Alicia and Ella. Well Done.

For the past few weeks, the students in De-
sign Technology have been experimenting
with a range of drawing techniques that are
used in the design industry. The focus this
week has been the thick and thin line two
tone technique. This is a when am outline
drawing is improved quickly and effectively,
by emphasising a proportion of the outline
with “thick” lines. Further to this, adding thin
lines gives a 3D effect to finish the drawing or
sketch.

Self– portraits
Georgia Lane
Our students are currently studying the
work of the German Expressionists.
Before we dive into their affinity with
masks, students need to understand the
structure and proportions of the face.
Where better to start than with a self-
portrait!
