Wednesday, December 5 | 5-7 pm | Dining Hall Patio Room Program Information Counselor Education: The School Counseling (MSEd) and Mental Health Counseling (MS) programs prepare graduate students to serve as professional counselors in schools, and as mental health counselors in hospitals and community agencies. The MSEd in School Counseling leads to New York State certification in school counseling (K-12) and the MS in Mental Health Counseling leads to licensure as a mental health counselor in New York State. The bilingual specialization in school counseling offers a NYS Bilingual Extension. Special Education:The Special Education program prepares teachers to work with children and youth with special education needs in schools and other community settings. We offer master’s degrees in Science of Education (MSEd) in Special Education at three age levels: Early Childhood (Birth-2nd Grade), Childhood (Grades 1-6), and Adolescent (Grades 7-12). We also have a Special Education (MAT) program which leads to dual certification in Childhood Education and Special Education (Grades 1-6). Post-Master’s Advanced Certification and board certified Behavior Analysist programs are also available. Educational Leadership: The School Building Leader (SBL) and School District Leader (SDL) Post-Master’s programs prepare professionals to work in school settings in a variety of roles such as principals, superintendents, and supervisors. Program completion leads to certification in SBL and SDL. Our program also offers a NYS Bilingual Extension in Educational Leadership. School Psychology: Our program prepares future school psychologists to promote educationally and psychologically healthy environments for all children and youth through assessment, consultation, counseling, and intervention. The School Psychology program leads to an MS in Education and certification as a school psychologist. A bilingual specialization is offered leading to a NYS Bilingual Extension.
