The Old Quay House offers an intimate and unique location for the perfect, memorable
wedding day. Situated right on the water’s edge of the RSPB Hayle Estuary Nature Reserve,
enjoy awe-inspiring panoramic views, making for the most beautiful photo opportunities.
You never know, some of our resident white swans may float by just at the right time for a
romantic image to cherish.
The Old Quay House offers a whole host of wedding day options, providing you with the
flexibility to have the day of your dreams; whether you desire a traditional grand affair or an
intimate ceremony with just the two of you.
Trevor & Margaret have been in the hospitality industry for over 40 years and have used all
of their knowledge to create the most charming wedding venue. If you would like to have a

The Closest Outdoor Ceremony Venue to the Sea in Cornwall
Looking for an unbelievable ceremony venue just two meters from the sea? Our stunning
Azura Deck Summerhouse offers an idyllic setting to take your wedding vows. Plan your civil
ceremony to coincide with high tide and your wedding backdrop will add romantic sparkle
to your fairy-tale day. The ceremony will take place within the Summerhouse,
accommodating yourselves, your two witnesses and the two registrars. The surrounding
decking area can then seat up to 30 guests.
Although outdoor ceremonies are spectacular, they are open to the elements and are
weather dependant. A decision will be made by us the night before the ceremony as to
whether an outdoor ceremony will be possible, unfortunately if not, alternative indoor
arrangements will be made for you. Please be advised that as for all civil ceremonies, you
will need to notify the Superintendent Registrar as soon as possible of you choosing an
outdoor ceremony.

Situated on the first level of the Inn, The Moon Suite is exclusively yours for the duration of
your wedding. It’s fresh, bright and airy interior offers the perfect backdrop for your chosen
wedding colour scheme. You can also take advantage of direct access out onto your private
terrace, with views across the estuary and access down to our waterside garden and Azura
Deck. Most couples find The Moon function suite suits all of their requirements perfectly,
with its own bar, toilets, and separate access with Stannah stair lift, however should you
wish for complete privacy, there is the option of having exclusive use of the entire Inn for
the day. As for the Azura Deck, The Moon Suite can accommodate Civil Marriage, Civil
Partnership and Renewal of Marriage Vows ceremonies for a maximum of 30 guests.
Options & Costs for Your Day
Trevor & Margaret are here to guide you through all of the arrangements leading up to your
big day. The Moon Suite will be made available to you the day before your wedding, so you
can add all of your special finishing touches. The following services are also available free of
charge, with our compliments:

Why not hire our chair covers at £3.95 per chair? These really do add that special finishing
touch, especially if you choose to tie your own co-ordinating organza bows.

Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate weddings during school holidays and public
bank holidays.

You are sure to find the perfect dishes within our specially selected menus, however should
you prefer a specific dish, our chef can design a bespoke menu for you, created using locally
sourced ingredients and suppliers wherever possible.
Please choose one dish from each course for your entire wedding party (minimum of 30 in
party). Additional choices are possible; however a pre-order will be required 28 days prior
to your wedding. Please ensure you make us aware of any guests with food allergies or
intolerances so we can offer a suitable menu for them.

Accommodation
The Old Quay House offers nine beautiful en-suite bed and breakfast garden lodges, with
the majority boasting stunning views across the estuary. For weddings with 40+ guests, the
happy couple can enjoy a complimentary stay within one our luxury lodges. Wedding guests
can also take advantage of a 10% discount on our tariff.

Terms & Conditions
Booking Your Wedding and Confirmation
Your chosen wedding date is deemed provisional and will be reserved for fourteen days from the date in which we send your wedding details letter. Should you wish to go ahead with the wedding booking, we will require written confirmation including an address, full contact details and agreement with our terms and conditions, along with a non-refundable booking fee of £1000 (deductible from total wedding invoice). Should this not be received within 14 days, we will assume the booking is no longer required and the date will be released. A further £1000 will then be required four months prior to your wedding date, with the estimated balance due 28 days prior to your wedding. Any other balance should be paid on the day by cash/card. It is the client’s responsibility to adhere to the payment dates and amounts and The Old Quay House is not obliged to remind the client of the contractual payment dates or amounts. No allowance, credit or refund will be made for food and beverages, services or other enhancements not taken or used during the wedding, which has been contracted in the invoice.
The number of persons attending the wedding must not exceed the maximum number stipulated in the wedding pack. The Old Quay House reserves the right to refuse entry if these conditions are not observed.
Final numbers, menu choices and dietary requirements are to be confirmed 28 days priors to your wedding date, with names of guest with special requirements detailed on the table plan which must also be supplied at this time, in preparation for us to type up and display on the day.
Civil Weddings - your booking is subject to you providing us with a copy of confirmation from the relevant registration office, detailing that you have given notice of your marriage and that you have booked the Registrars.
The timing of the ceremony must be agreed with us at the time of booking.
Food & Beverages
All prices are inclusive of VAT and will be charged at the rate at the time of your wedding i.e. the client will be liable for any additional costs arising as a consequence of a rise in VAT. All wine, drinks etc are subject to increase and will be charged at the current tariff as at the time of your wedding. All other wines, drinks, etc are to be paid for in cash/card. The Old Quay House does not allow guests to bring their own food, wine, spirits or soft drinks for consumption at an event. The import of guest food or drink is not an option and corkage arrangements are not available.
Strict hygiene procedures are followed in our kitchen but due to the presence of other
allergens in some products there is a small possibility that other allergens may be found in

any menu item. If you or your guests have any allergies, please discuss this at the time of
booking.
Personal Belongings and Liability
The Old Quay House and its employees accept no responsibility for the loss or damage to
any goods/items left on the premises. Please ensure all goods/items are removed by the
end of your event. We cannot be held responsible for the failure of public services (e.g.
water, gas, electricity etc), or for any disturbance beyond our control.
Cancellation
Any cancellation, postponement, or significant changes in arrangements must be confirmed
in writing. All booking fees/payment instalments which have been made are non-
refundable. If the cancellation occurs within 3 months of your wedding date, 100% of the
total estimated spend will be charged. We do suggest you take out wedding insurance, to
ensure nothing ruins your very special day.
Car Parking
Ample free on-site parking is available. We are happy for guests to leave their cars
overnight, however cars must be removed by 10.30am the following morning.
Client Liability
The client shall be responsible for the behaviour of their guests and any damage to The Old
Quay House property, including theft and water damage. Guests should not be excessive or
rowdy, and offensive or illegal behaviour will not be tolerated. Consideration must be
shown to other guests and our staff; we reserve the right to recover from the person making
the booking any discretionary compensation payment or discount we may have to pay to
other guests, as a result of your actions or members of your party.
Accommodation
For weddings with 40 guests or more, having a three course sit down meal, you will be
offered one night’s complimentary accommodation for your use. All accommodation is
subject to availability at the time of booking the accommodation and not the wedding.
The Old Quay House reserves the right to refuse any booking.
