8th Grade Georgia Heritage Day-Presenters Needed! Our 8th grade annual Georgia Heritage Day will take place
on May 9th. As part of our 8th grade curriculum, students
celebrate our state’s culture, history, music, etc. on this
special day. So, if you have a particular interest, talent, or
craft, please consider being a presenter for Georgia Herit-
age Day. In the past we have had quilters, storytellers, musicians, histo-
rians, bakers, history buffs, war heroes, and reenactors, just to name a
few. If you would like to be a part of this great educational experience,
please contact Marie Fiorentino, 8th grade teacher and chairperson, at
[email protected]. We need you!
Volunteers Needed Too! Parents are needed to assist at each of the Georgia Heritage Day Presen-
tations on Friday, May 9. Your help is needed from 9:00 a.m. until
12:00 p.m. Please contact Lori Wheless at [email protected] if you
are able to assist or have any questions. Please consider becoming a
volunteer for this special 8th grade event!
ATTENTION ALL WHO VOLUNTEER:
House Bill 1176 was signed into law and affects our protocol for report-
ing child abuse and neglect. As a result all volunteers for our school
must complete a Volunteer Safety Information Form and complete train-
ing on Child Abuse and Neglect. The training is a ten minute online
presentation outlining your responsibility for reporting child abuse or
neglect and the protocol for such reporting. At the completion of the
online training, you will be given an opportunity to print a Certificate of
Completion. Your completed Volunteer Safety Information Form and
training certificate along with a copy of your driver’s license should be
submitted to the front office of your child’s school as soon as possible.
This new policy includes all volunteers: sports, performing arts, and
PTSA volunteers.
Autism Awareness Month
April is Autism Awareness Month, and
WBMS is going to celebrate those who have
autism and spread awareness the entire month
with various activities. So be ready to celebrate
Autism in April. Our school has a team for the
Walk Now for Autism Speaks event on Sunday, May 18th at Atlantic
Station. We are the Webb Bridge Builders, and we would LOVE to
have you join or make a donation at www.walknowforautimsspeaks.org/
georgia/webbbridgebuilders. If you have any questions, please contact
Mrs. Michelle Parris at [email protected]. Thank you!
Exemplifying Excellence Every Day!
Have a great Spring Break!
