    Course Title: Web Design and Development

    Credit Hours: 3(2 - 1)

    Prerequisite: Introduction to IT

    Course Outcomes & Objectives:

    Basic Concepts: Students will learn about web concepts, Web Server, Internet

    protocols, Domain Name System (DNS), Web browsers, URL, Web Page, and

    Web Presentation.

    Basic Vision: Students will learn how plug-ins can improve Web-browsing

    experience and you will use browsers to download and manage files. Studentswill learn about databases as they relate to Web search engines and you will

    use search engines to conduct basic and advanced Web searches.

    Essential Web Page Development Skills: It teaches essential Web page

    development skills. Students will learn to develop Web sites using Hypertext

    Markup Language (HTML) and Extensible HTML (XHTML). Students will

    learn to write code manually, as well as use graphical user interface (GUI)

    authoring tools. This course will teach students to work as a productive part of

    a Web site development team.

    Design Methodology and Technology teaches students how to create and

    manage Web sites with tools such as Macromedia Fireworks, Macromedia

    Dreamweaver 8.0, Dynamic HTML, and various multimedia and CSS

    standards.

    Tools & Techniques: Students will also implement the latest strategies to

    develop third-generation Web sites, evaluate design tools, discuss future

    technology standards, and explore the incompatibility issues surrounding

    current browsers.

    JavaScriptteaches students how to use the features of the JavaScript language

    to design client-side, platform independent solutions. Students learn how to

    write JavaScript programs, script for the Java Script object model, control

    program flow, validate forms, animate images, target frames, and create

    cookies. Students will also understand and use the most popular applicationsof JavaScript.

    ASP.Net teaches students how to use features of Microsofts ASP.Net using

    C#. They will also learn database connectivity and data-handling techniques

    using .Net Framework.

    Deploymentwill focus on web-page publishing, and management of website

    on dedicated web-servers.
