This individual performs a variety of functions to support the quality of Lakeside Chautauqua’s youth education programs. The Youth Education/Music Intern reports directly to the Director of Educational Programming. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (PLUS OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED): Assist coordinator of the youth music programs “Fun with Music” and “Ring & Sing” (ages 4-8+) Assist coordinator of “Infant/Toddler Story Times” (ages 0-3) and “The Fine Print Bookstore Special Events” (ages 3-7) Plan activities and design instruction for the “Nature Exploration” program (ages 4-6) Plan activities and design instruction for the “Where in the Word” geography/culture program (ages 3-10) Coordinate one youth program per week on a topic of interest not already offered Teach arts and craft classes at the Rhein Center (no more than 2 hours per week) Assist in coordinating childcare for the West Ohio Conference Maintain attendance records for all summer youth education programs Edit content of ‘Children & Youth’ page of weekly Lakesider newspaper Assist in coordinating Friday afternoon family programs (i.e. Puppet Shows/Family Discovery Programs) Assist with publicity for classes and evaluation of outcomes Provide a safe environment for children participating in youth education programs Participate in all LLA activities, forums and gatherings Make an oral presentation to the Lakeside Chautauqua staff regarding summer internship experience FOR MORE INFORMATION, PLEASE CONTACT: LLA Coordinator [email protected] HOW TO APPLY: Applicants must submit a cover letter, resume and minimum of 3 professional references (name and contact information).
