Statement Addressing the Selection Criteria:

The selection criteria include the skills, knowledge, experience and, if required, qualifications of the position. They are listed in the position description form.

Your application should contain a brief statement addressing the selection criteria with examples that demonstrate how you meet each of these requirements. It is recommended that you ask another person to review this statement as you might forget or underestimate a particular experience or example that best illustrates how you meet the criterion.

It is strongly suggested that you use each of the selection criterion as a heading and outline your relevant experience separately against each one. NB. Be succinct and relevant.

Resum:

You should attach a copy of your current Resum, listing academic and/or professional training and memberships and your relevant employment experience. This experience should list the main responsibilities of your job.

A standard Resum is acceptable, however it is suggested that you submit a Resum that reflects the requirements of the job you are applying for, as not all resumes contain the relevant information sought and others contain too much detail.

Referees:

Include the names and phone numbers of at least two work referees who can provide information on your work performance. Where practicable, one of the referees should be your current or last supervisor. Refer to the referees for approval before listing them in your application.

SHIRE PROFILE

The Shire of Boyup Brook is a band 4 local government located in the south west of Western Australia, adjoining the shire of Donnybrook to the west (about 45 min travel), and is about an hour and 15 min from Bunbury on the coast.

With a blend of broad acre farming toward Kojonup on its eastern boundary, and more intensive farming (e.g. viticulture, orchards etc) in the west, the shires nine Councillors and executive team are intent on balancing growth and development with meeting the diverse needs of each of the unique communities within the shire's boundaries.

THINK FAMILY & WELLBEING

Boyup Brook has a hospital, Medical Centre with two doctors, and a chemist. There is an early childhood care facility in Boyup Brook for pre-schoolers, two primary schools, and a junior high school.

THINK AMENITY & TREE CHANGE

You will find our community is friendly, active, and engaged. People who live here care about each other, their environment (1245 sq km natural forest/bush land, or 44% of the district), and future for their families. Beautifully maintained parks, reserves, and public open spaces, plus a variety of picturesque sites on the Boyup Brook, draw people to the outdoors.

The Council is committed to supporting and encouraging its residents of all ages to be more active. The shire's sport and recreation facilities (e.g. ovals, tennis and basketball/netball courts) are well appointed and maintained, and the pool is being heated.

THINK ACTIVITIES.

The shire's roots were sewn in its reliable agricultural hinterland where traditional farming enterprises like beef, sheep, and crop production have been joined in more recent times by a now thriving tourism industry based on local drawcards like the 5 day Country Music Festival, rodeo, a network of wineries, and boutique primary produce and accommodation.
