INTRODUCING ZAMBIA Zambia is situated in South-Central Africa, with eight neighbors. Zambia as a British Colony was referred to as Northern Rhodesia and was part of the Rhodesian-Nyasaland Federation. At independence from Britain on 24th October, 1964. This beautiful Spanish American inspired building was erected in 1951 and is the oldest museum in the country. It records the entire history of man in Zambia and has sections on ethnography, archaeology and wildlife.“Highlights” *Clock on the Tower was a gift from the Susman brothers and outside the Museum you will find a bust statue commemorating Emil Holub, Holub was a Czechoslovakian explorer and author in the late 19th century who travelled and wrote extensively about the Southern Africa region. After the Museum tour guests are prevailaged to do a quick City Tour. The town of Livingstone was moved from Old Drift in 1905 when it was decided that a location on Constitution Hill would be healthier than one on the River. The town was carefully planned with wide streets, avenues of beautiful trees, buildings with high ceilings and mosquito-netted verandahs. Clients are taken to view the famous Mukuni Park Curio Market situated in a small park in the City Center blasting with colourful Zambian Chitenga (local fabric), bags etc and curios are available. After the tour guests drive to Mukuni Village to see how the people of Zambia live today.

MUKUNI VILLAGE TOUR

Mukuni village – founded as Gundu in the 13th century, and later named after the ruler (Mukuni) on arrival from the Congo. It is home to the Leya people. This tour presents an opportunity to see how the local people live in a real African village. It has a population of 7,000, a clinic, basic school and boreholes for drinking water. Clients see how huts are built and decorated, meet residents and see the locals at work creating curios. After the tour you will be transferred back to the hotel.

Musi-oa-Tunya National Park is a wildlife sanctuary on the banks of the Zambezi River and it is the only park among the 19 in Zambia which is fenced. It boasts of white rhino, various antelope, buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, kudu, waterbuck, warthog and zebra. There is beautiful riverine vegetation and stunning views across the Zambezi River. It is also possible to see Old Drift where the settlers lived before 1904. Refreshments and snacks are offered during the tour. After the game drive passengers disembark from the game viewer for a short Rhino Walk to view the Rhinos. After the tour passengers return to the Hotel.

Clear Immigration on the Zambian side cross to the other side while vehicles await for the passengers on the Botswana side proceed to clear Botswana Immigration.08H30 Transported to their first activity the day typically starts with a river cruise into the park, with an opportunity to see a host of waders and water birds along with the ever present crocodiles and lurking hippos. Chobe is renowned for scores of large herbivores making their way down to the river to drink —most notably buffalo and elephant. On the island, Puku and Lechwe are often seen and on the banks kudu, impala and water buck are common. A complimentary soft drink is included on the boat, as well as tea and coffee and a light snack prior to guest’s activity.12H30 After the cruise a satisfying lunch is served at Chobe Safari Lodge. Mineral water, tea and coffee are included with lunch. After a one hour lunch break, guests head off on a game drive—getting close to nature with specially adapted open 4 x 4 vehicles. Frequent lion sightings occur in Chobe, Eland,Sable,and Roan antelope are common at certain times of the year. Leopards are elusive but common in the area—you may be lucky! Livingstone to the Botswana border via short ferry, completing immigration and customs formalities before continuing to the Chobe National Park. Cruise on the Chobe River with a chance of spotting elephant and other game species coming to drink and bathe in the river, as well as many bird species. Lunch is served at a lodge (drinks not included). The afternoon continues with a game drive in open vehicles into the Chobe National Park, with a chance of spotting lion and buffalo as well as numerous plains game species. Transfer back across the Zambia border late afternoon.

06:30HRS - Transfer clients from the Hotel reception for your Combination tour of Elephant Back Safari, Lion Walk and Cheatah Interaction. Upon arrival tea, coffee and cordial are served, after which the guide gives a short introductory talk including safety aspects. Clients are then taken to meet the elephants and their handlers, and the trail begins. The safari winds through bush, after the ride clients dismount and interact with the elephants, feed the elephant, take photos whilst the guide gives an informative talk on the African elephant and its relationship with man. After the Elephant Back Safari Clients continue with Walk with Lions with instructions from the guide and later finish up the tour with the interaction of the Cheatah.After the tour clients are transferred back to the hotel.

12H30 Livingstone Island Lunch

Your guide will meet with you in the hotel lobby and transfer you to the Royal Livingstone Hotel Jetty to get on a Boat transfer across to Livingstone Island, which boasts a unique location very close to the Falls. Sparkling wine is served, followed by buffet lunch. Wines, beers, soft drinks, teas and coffees are included. You can swim and should bring swimming gear if they would like to participate. After the tour you will taken back to the Jetty by boat and your guide will meet there and transfer you back to your Hotel. REST of the Afternoon at Leisure.

Your driver-guide will meet with you in the Hotel Lobby and transfer you into Livingstone Town the tour begins with the visit to the Museum. The Livingstone Museum, established in 1934, is the oldest and largest of the four national Museums. It is located in Livingstone the Tourist Capital of Zambia and home of the Victoria Falls. It is multidisciplinary Museum with collections and exhibitions in Archaeology, Ethnography History

and various branches of Natural History, including Mammalogy, Ornithology, Entomology, Ichthyology, Herpetogoly and Bothany.It holds a vast archaeological collection including the mine finds of the World Broken Hill Man, the main reference collection on Zambia’s biodiversity, a rich ethnographic collection dating back to the early 20 th Century, a vast collection of the explorer David Livingstone’s memorabilia, a rich archival collection and hosts one of the oldest libraries in the country. After the Museum tour clients will do a quick city tour of Livingstone with a Commentary while driving slowly explaining the Historical tour of Livingstone. Stopping at major Historical Buildings and delegates are

Mukuni village – founded as Gundu in the 13th century, and later named after the ruler (Mukuni) on arrival from the Congo. It is home to the Leya people. This tour presents an opportunity to see how the local people live in a real African village. It has a populationof 7,000, a clinic, basic school and boreholes for drinking water. Clients see how huts are built and decorated, meet residents and see the locals at work creating curios. After the tour you will be transferred back to the hotel.

PM GAME DRIVE/RHINO SAFARI

Musi-oa-Tunya National Park is a wildlife sanctuary on the banks of the Zambezi River and it is the only park among the 19 in Zambia which is fenced. It is 20 kms square, and gives clients the opportunity to view and photograph animals at close range. It boasts of white rhino, various antelope, buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, kudu, waterbuck, warthog and zebra. There is beautiful riverine vegetation and stunning views across the Zambezi River. It is also possible to see Old Drift where the settlers lived before 1904. Refreshments and snacks are offered during the tour. After the game drive passengers disembark from the game viewer for a short Rhino Walk to view the Rhinos. After the tour passengers return to the Hotel.

DAY2-4KASANKA NATIONAL PARKYour driver and guide will come to collect you for your transfer from Lusaka to Kasanka.
