How did you begin formulating ideas to answer the brief successfully?

When I was given this brief I already knew what I wanted to when I saw the word reflection as one of the words I wanted to do, the photo I wanted to do was a photo of a person holding a piece of glass to her face with her head to the side but in the piece of glass the persons eyes were facing forward. I liked this idea and did do it as a test shoot to see if I like the technique and when in Photoshop I edited the eyes of the person in mine to cause them to have the same effect that I wanted them to have. After tasking these photos and editing them I wasn’t as I thought I would be when I did this idea, the idea that I was most happy with was the one that I decided to do for my final shoot. I did mood boards to give myself more ideas just so that I didn’t just stick to that idea, so that if I changed my mind or the photos didn’t turn out well when I did the test shoot of these photos, I still had other ideas that I could use if I needed them which was a good thing because in the end I didn’t do this idea, which was also good because I do feel that shouldn’t of just had the one idea because if I didn’t look at other photos I wouldn’t have any other ideas an would have to be stuck with that one idea, and being stuck with that idea when in the end I didn’t like them wouldn’t be good for my project, so having ideas I was able to choose from them and do that one other idea instead.

How did your research help you develop your ideas to support your project? How did your ideas change?

I do feel that I gave myself a lot of ideas for the brief and my final major project, doing all different types of research I was able to have good ideas for my final photos. By doing the research I did it helped me to have more ideas and then seeing other ideas it caused me to find other ideas that I wanted to do instead of just doing the one I thought I would do for the project. Even though I knew the idea I wanted to do, I knew that my idea would rather change completely or slightly as the project went on and seeing other ideas caused the idea I had before to be changed into a completely different idea in the end. So by me doing all the research it gave me more ideas rather than the one I had at the beginning.

What experiments did you undertake to evidence your creativity?

To show my experiments I did four shots of ideas that I had. When doing the three mood boards I did one on reflection, on that mood board I choose to show four different types of reflection, they were mirror, water, self-reflection and window. Out of these for those for shots I did two mirror ones, one water one and one type of reflection that wasn’t on my reflection mood board but I still decided to do it as I wanted to experiment with a different type of reflection that I hadn’t seen when doing my research. To create this reflection I took

photos of someone in the studio and then I used Photoshop to rotate the photos to have two of the one person doing the same pose.

Discuss the reasoning about your chosen presentational method.

I have made a website that shows this series on it that shows all the photos on them from my final shoot and I also added the photos that I did for this shoot but the conceptual shoot I did with this technique. The other way that I will be displaying my work is in the gallery to show my work. I decided to choose to show my photos on a website as I like that I was able to choose a theme for my website that goes with my photos, I also like that I give them a kind of professional look to them. I decided to do a gallery as I want a lot of people to be able to see these photos more up close and be able to look at the detail in the photos, also people might not be able to get onto the website so having them on display easily seen anyone is able to see them.

What were your intentions for this project?

For this project my project was to show reflection in different ways, I wanted to try different types of reflection photography that I had seen online a couple of times, and each time I saw them I wanted to try them, with one of my mirror ones I was able to do this and with the water one I did I was able to do this as well. My intensions were to try and take photos I wanted to do but thought were too difficult and I wanted to make them more creative with knowledge I have to make really creative photos, with some of these photos I wanted to use Photoshop more so I was able to learn how to use it more so I can edit photo much better than before when I wasn’t that good at using it.

How did you plan and organise your project to complete goals efficiently within an agreed time – frame?

We were given a brief with tasks on it that we needed to do, on this shoot it also had dates and the task next to them so we were able to know what task’s to do for each week. This helped stayed organised and not get too behind on my work, this helped me to know what I needed to do each week that caused me to stay organised. Most of the time the goals that I set myself to reach I was able to do in that day or week I was doing . another way I stayed organised was each time I did a task and completed it I would highlight the task so I was able to know what I had done, which was another way of myself know I’ve reached the goals I wanted to aim for that day.

How did you apply practical skills and theoretical knowledge and understanding to complete your project and ensure visual, technical and conceptual development?

To help myself understand this I did four shoots, I did two technical shoots and then I did two conceptual shoots. By doing these shoots it helped me to apply practical skills when doing these shoots was a better way of understanding. Doing these shoots were a big way for me to complete my project. Another way for me to understand them was that I did is research, I collected a lot of research towards this work allowed me to have a better knowledge on this.

How do you feel your final series fulfilled your proposal?

This series in my opinion I felt that it did turn out good, I was able to do a piece of work that I worked hard on and by doing the shoots that I did I was able to learn a new skill that I can use in the future for other projects. I feel that whole project was successful as I liked how each piece of work turned out and then to have photos that I felt would be hard to do and then to be surprised that they wasn’t that hard to do I was happy I learned this skill and found it not heard at all. I feel it fulfilled the series as it showed reflection which was the whole point of my final major project and I feel that the photos and work I did for this showed this.
