Character Production Log 1. Before I started to make my character, I wanted to set up a viewport so I can create a character to scale. I created a box with the side of 100 width, length and height. I then flipped the box inside out and ignored the backfacing so you could see the box like this below. 2. I added a texture to the box using two different images, the front of my character and the side of the character using a diffuse map colour. I decided to stretch the character a little bit as it looked a bit wide.

Character Production Log 1. Before I started to make my character, I wanted to set up a viewport so I can create a

character to scale. I created a box with the side of 100 width, length and height. I then flipped the box inside out and ignored the backfacing so you could see the box like this below.

 2. I added a texture to the box using two different images, the front of my character and the

side of the character using a diffuse map colour. I decided to stretch the character a little bit as it looked a bit wide.

3. The first big of the character I made was the legs, I did this by creating a box and roughly lining it up in the left viewport and the front viewport with the images, I extruded the legs down a little bit and out to make the feet. I made one leg then duplicated it, so both legs were the same.

 4. I then made the body and the arm by doing the same, I duplicated it and rotated the arm

around to make it the same on the otherside.

5. This is what it looked like once I did that. each side of the body is the same.

 6. I made the head by creating a box using the same method, I made the front of the head

stick out more than the back of the head, as you can see in the left viewport. I decided to make the head smaller than what the original image was.

7. The last part of the character I had to make was the hat. This was pretty simple as I just had to make the head a little bit bigger and added a swift loop to the bottom of the hat. I then selected the polygon faces of the bottom part of the swift loop and extruded them as a group. This gave the hat a tip with a extrusion of 3 all the way around it.

 8. Before I added any body parts to the character, I added loads of swift loops to the

character, all lining up with something on the image behind. (I made the object opaque using Alt X). As you can see the lines match up a part of the body which will be edited.

9. I selected the tie section (the middle strip of the character, and extruded it by 2. I then selected the shirt collar area and extruded it by 1.

 10. I then extruded the bottom part of the shirt to make a cuff.

 11. I added two swift loops around the hat to make the hat have a strip in the middle.

12. I then started to apply textures to each part of the character by selecting the polygon faces I want to colour in and apply a diffuse colour to them. I made the tie red, collar and cuffs white, hat and suit grey, stripe on hat and belt black.

 13. The final thing I had to do was add more swift loops to the face to be able to extrude the

eyes and mouth. I then applied t

This is what the final product looked like.
