Week1 Term 1

Definition: Firstly, this week I have studied organisational behaviour and how can

organisational structure and culture influence human behaviour and how to do

course work. (Individual report and group presentation) Secondly, in English course I

have got some good tips which were how to analyse question.

Evaluation: the classes were quite nice because almost of all classes were new for

me, especially, organisational behaviour theories. These theories will be very useful

in my course work.

Reflection: I have learnt about organisational behaviour, culture and structure during

this week. When I was studying these, I saw a lot of new academic words. When I

saw the words, I asked my class teacher the meaning of word and took notes so that

I learnt around 10 new words such as dynamic, terrain, employee turnover. I met

some of my smart goals like reading and grammar, however, I need to meet the rest

of my goals so I will listen to tad-talk and read the transcript and take a note some

important academic words. I will also make a plan how to make presentation.


Week2 Term 1

Definition: This week I studied about global business organisations’ problems and

how they solved. This topic is group work which is presentation. Also I had a

vocabulary test in English class.

Evaluation: I made a presentation with my group so that I was a bit nervous because

it was my first speech but it was very good experience and great practice. However,

the vocabulary test was little bit easy for me many of words I already knew.

Reflection: During the presentation, I saw many students’ speech they just read their

sources so I wanted to make a better speech because it is one of my personal goals.

I took some notes and memorise key point and then I spoke with eye contact. It was

not really good but I have got confident and I went up one step. The point is I need to

narrow down my idea. I searched how to make a good power point on youtube and

learn how to do it.

Week 3 Term 1

Definition: I did individual assignment and made a plan for term 1 assessment in

English class. We shared our essay plan with our peers it kind of group work.

Organisation Behaviour class also focuses on essay not a group work.

Evaluation: I was confused because different organisation behaviour teachers taught

different topics it was not connected so I was little bit annoyed. However, the English

course was very well organised and it was little bit difficult. This difficulty makes me

work hard.

Reflection: I have learnt article referring, and paraphrasing. I got some tips about key

points find out synonyms, and change word form and word order in English classes. I

learnt different theories of motivation and differences between leadership and

management in organisation behaviour classes. The problem is I could not meet my

goals because I concentrated on my reports. I spent a lot of time for finding out

proper sources for my reports. I will try to study about referring and paraphrasing,

reading article and understanding the context and summarise the article next week.


Week 4 Term 1

Definition: This week is more about individual work both of English and organisation

behaviour classes. I had plenty of time to write my report in O.B class and I had

listening exam and writing exam practice.

Evaluation: The English class was very useful because I studied a lot of new

information such as finding out synonyms, listening exam skills, and linking words.

The cohesive words, and phrase were very helpful and I was happy to learn that

because I could use in my essays. However, O.B class was too much time to self-

study. I wanted to learn more about theory of organisational behaviour.

Reflection: I got high score in the exam and I learnt how to recognise key words in

the questions and listen carefully about synonyms. Another I studied cohesive words

and how to make good paragraphs. There are some steps one is start with familiar

information, second is use pronouns to refer back and finally is clarify the pronouns.

I’m hoping to use the three steps the middle term writing exam next week.


Week5 Term 1

Definition: This week also work individually in both organisation behaviour and

English course. I had middle term test, which is writing, in English class. O.B class

was focus on report how my essay similar to others.

Evaluation: I enjoyed a lot this week classes because of the exam. The exam made

me study hard which was good and I realised that I need to do work more. Also the

O.B class was good I needed to do a lot of paraphrasing due to the “turnitin.”

Reflection: I learnt about CU Harvard style referencing and was taught how to check

report’s similarity. I have got 36% of similarity so I needed to reduce the percentage

up to 25% it required a lot of effort to paraphrase. I have been struggling with that

because my English skill is not as much as native speakers and I do not know many

vocabularies. I also should understand whole text. From now on I will study about

skill of paraphrasing and read short context to understand meaning. However, the

good thing is that the test was not too bad I guess. I finished the test in time.


Week6 Term 1

Definition: Individual report of organisational behaviour needed to submit on Friday

and an English essay should submit on Monday so the classes spent a lot of time to

do individual work. However, the English course did little bit group work such as

debate with group.

Evaluation: The O.B class was really helpful this week. As I said, I had middle draft

on the Friday so I must have completed all my report’s questions, but I was confused

about my answers. However, tutors checked my whole essay and gave me some

feedback more than twice so that I could submit in time. Also I was happy to do work

in English classes because of discussing. The English course does not spend much

time to speak, but this week I have debated with my group, which was really fun.

Reflection: This week I met my goal which was decrease the percentage of similarity

of individual report. The similarity declined from 36% to 21%. The reducing the

percentage required a lot of paraphrasing this thing I struggled last week, but, I made

many new sentences this week. However, when I talked with my English tutor about

my essay she told me the content of essay is ok but some sentences are too simple

so I need to make some complex sentences. From now on I will study about complex

sentence and composite sentence.


Week7 Term 1

Definition: This week’s classes were more about group work because of group

presentation in Organisation behaviour class. Also the English classes had time to

discuss due to the speaking exam.

Evaluation: The O.B class was very confusing this week because group presentation

module has a lot of questions although I can only use maximum 12 slides. However,

it was good to meet my group. The English class was very fun and useful even

though it was difficult.

Reflection: I was selected to be a leader in my group, as a result of this I needed to

manage the group and divide the tasks which were hard for me. However, it will be

good challenge because one of my smart goals is that improving presentation skills

so it is great chance to reach my target with my group. Gen, who is English tutor,

gave me some advices about using variety of conjunctions in order to avoid the

repetition so I will study how to use conjunction and practice speech for the

presentation.


Week 8 Term 1

Definition: This week was full of group work in both classes which are English and

Organisation Behaviour due to the group presentation and speaking test.

Evaluation: I was very nervous because I had a mock presentation for next Friday

and I also had a speaking test simulation in front of class mates. It was really good

practice because the mates gave me a lot of advices.

Reflection: After finishing the mock presentation one of my class mates told me my

speech was not too bad but I need to eye contact people who in front of me. I think

my presentation skill is improved and I have time to practice so I will make better

speech. Another point is speaking when I had a the simulation my friend said to me

good idea and good fluency, however, I have to develop my pronunciation, moreover,

Gen, who are my tutor, told me I will be ok in the test. So in this term I met some of

my goals which are punctuation, speaking fluency and presentation skills but I could

not meet rest of them such as reading and grammar skills because I have focus on

individual report and group work so I keep setting the goals for the next term and I

will add the pronunciation and eye contact skill.


Week 1 Term 2

Definition: Beginning week for term2 so all the classes were focused on individual

report the classes were introduction of term 2.

Evaluation: I was happy to meet new teacher and new subject so this week was

really good but there was one thing I hated that was chair because I had three hours

lesson, however, the chair was really uncomfortable it looks like stool.

Reflection: This week is all about introduction except Marketing and Advertisement

which is a new subject in this term so that I have learnt little bit about marketing

theory such as marketing mix, product life cycle (PLC), and Boston Matrix. This is

very interesting subject for me because I always wanted to be sport marketing

manager. However, I have one more subject compare to previous term it means I

have more assignments so I have to think how to deal with the assignments and how

to reach my SMART goals.


Week 2 Term 2

Definition: This week was also all about lecture, individual course work and little bit

exam practice but I’ve got my group for group report in Marketing and Advertising

lesson.

Evaluation: I think the listening exam practice was very helpful for me because

nowadays I just focus on the writing skills so it reminded me to do listening practice.

However, the other lesson such as Marketing and Advertising gave me too much

information in a day.

Reflection: I have learnt the marketing strategies and market segmentation. The

market segmentation is divide the large market into small market and this module

offers group work which is report. It is different from group presentation so I have to

think how to divide the conducts and how to manage but I had experience from

previous term. I was lead of my group so I know how to do group work. I hope I will

get higher mark than last term with my group members.


Week3 Term2

Definition: English lesson was for the exam practices so it was all about individual

work as well as the research project lesson. However, Marketing and Advertising

lesson was introduction of group report and the group members were divided.

Evaluation: I really like the exam practicing because I felt that it helps me to improve

my academic English skills so I love the English lesson. After that I wanted to talk

with teacher and get some feedbacks for my report in research project lesson but I

have not got feedback yet and also did not talk much. It is little bit shame.

Reflection: I have studied direct marketing, English exam skills, and research

methodologies which are primary research, and secondary research. When I was

studying the exam skills, I have faced some problems because there were a lot of

new words especially in reading. So I am planning to learn more vocabularies and

also compound adjectives.


Week 4 Term 2

Definition: English lesson was for the exam practices so it was all about individual

work as well as the research project lesson. However, Marketing and Advertising

lesson started group report and divided the conducts.

Evaluation: I really like the exam practicing because I felt that it helps me to improve

my academic English skills and I want to pass the English exam in this term. Then

other lessons were not too bad due to we focused on the reports.

Reflection: I have studied direct marketing, English exam skills, and research

methodologies which are primary research, and secondary research. In the exam

there are three parts of writing tests one is essay and second is reading summary

then finally listening summary. The summarizing is very difficult for me because I can

listen to the lecture only once then need to write around 100words. It is very hard to

catch the main key points so I need to practice more. From now here I will listen to

the Ted talk and catch the key points.


Week 5 Term 2

Definition: English lesson was about full of the exam practices so it was all about

individual work as well as the research project lesson. However, Marketing and

Advertising had a group report draft.

Evaluation: The exam practicing was really useful and helpful because the exams

will be offered in 3 weeks. Then teacher said that we will do all exam practice rest of

the time. I really like that.

Reflection: I have studied direct marketing, English exam skills, and how to write

taxonomy in research project. The taxonomy is about use the sources, which are

support my opinion or against my opinion. Then I need to write critical viewpoint so I

need to read a lot of books, articles, and journals if I want to get high mark. So I will

use locate site or go to library.


Week 6 Term 2.

Definition: English lesson was about full of the exam practices so it was all about

individual work as well as research project lesson, but there were middle draft which

was taxonomy. The Marketing and Advertising (M and A) was half and half.

Evaluation: The exams practicing were little bit difficult for me but the practicing was

really useful. However, the M and A tutor pushed a lot to do group work although we

still had 2weeks. Actually, I do not really understand because all the students are not

young children and also it is group work so it needed to be divided by group

members themselves. Tutor needn’t have done the pushing as if the students do not

do their work, it is their fault. It was quite stressful for me.

Reflection: This week had focused on the assignments I did a lot of work for making

a good taxonomy so I had read many books, articles, and web journal and I had

written 10 arguments and 10 critical viewpoints. It required a lot of reading and

thinking so this helped me a lot to get knowledge about the Olympics which is my

research topic. I submitted the taxonomy today so I hope will get good mark.


Week 7 Term 2.

Definition: All the lessons and lectures were focused on the reports which are

individual and group report.

Evaluation: I’m getting used to the English exams, which is good, because of the

tutor’s lesson plan so I’m so happy to study with her. Then other lectures were about

individual and group reports. The lessons were not too bad due to the final

submission is the end of next week.

Reflection: I have got a good result in taxonomy middle draft it is not really high mark

but I can improve before the final submission and the result is higher than other

classmates’ result. From now on I will follow the feedback for higher mark.
