Students apply biological concepts and terms to investigate a debate topic relating to the interaction of humans with the environment. Students work collaboratively to produce a three-part oral response in the form of a debate with each person speaking for 4-5 minutes. Students must display (via oral means), interpret and analyse their evidence. Collaborative work must be shown: students gather information, edit each other’s speeches and assist one another with rebuttals on the day of the debate. Oral presentation skills will also be assessed. A bibliography must be submitted showing the references used to put the arguments together. Topic: Conservation costs too much.
