A Prayer for Lent 2019
Lord, during this Lenten Season, nourish me with Your Word of life and make me one with You in love and prayer. Fill my heart with Your love and keep me faithful to the Gospel of Christ. Give me the grace to rise above my human weakness. Give me new life by Your Sacraments, especially the Mass. Father, our source of life, I reach out with joy to grasp Your hand; let me walk more readily in Your ways. Guide me in Your gentle mercy, for left to myself I cannot do Your Will. Father of love, source of all blessings, help me to pass from my old life of sin to the new life of grace. Prepare me for the glory of Your Kingdom. I ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen
Come Alive Outside
In October of 2018, Wentworth Landscapes and Landscape Ontario hosted teams of landscape design students from Algonquin College, Niagara Parks School of Horticulture and University of Guelph to participate in a design charrette with students and teachers from First Adventure Child Development Centre and Georges Vanier Catholic School in Belleville, Ontario.
Using the input and ideas generated during the charrette, the teams created final proposals for a new natural playground and schoolyard. View all of the submission below and congratulations to the students at Algonquin College for submitting the winning design!

Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten classes focus on faith formation, academic success and programs for children, all within a play-based learning environment. Teachers and Early Childhood Educators work together to develop your child’s natural curiosity and excitement for learning. New this year; families are asked to pre-register new kindergarten students online @: http://www.alcdsb.on.ca/Schools/Pages/Registration-and-Enrolment.aspx
After pre-registering, please contact the school to arrange a meeting and bring the required documentation: (Birth Certificate, Baptismal Certificate, Up-to-Date immunization records, Evidence of direction of taxes to the Separate School Board)

March 21 st Rock Your Socks for World Down Syndrome Day!
On Thursday, March 21, wear your most colorful, spunky socks in celebration of people with Down syndrome!
CANCELLED & LATE BUSES
In the event of bus cancellations, students who normally walk to school or are driven should inform us if they will be absent. Parents of bussed students do not have to call in the event of bus cancellations. If buses are cancelled on a Wednesday or Thursday Hot Lunches will be rescheduled please check twitter and school website for updates.
Please be aware that if you drive your child/ren to school on these “snow days” you must also come to pick them up as the bus will not run in the afternoon if it did not pick-up in the morning. During inclement weather please check Tri Board Transportation web site www.triboard.on.ca.

April 2 World Autism Day
Raise Awareness by wearing the following colours (Red / Green / Blue / Yellow)

Catholic School Council will be hosting a movie night to help support our Come Alive Outside Project. Admission will be 5.00 and includes a drink and popcorn.

Lord God, You loved this world so much, that you gave your one and only Son, that we might be called your children too. Lord, help us to live in the gladness and grace of Easter Sunday, everyday. Let us have hearts of thankfulness for your sacrifice. Let us have eyes that look upon Your grace and rejoice in our salvation. Help us to walk in that mighty grace and tell your good news to the world. All for your glory do we pray, Lord, Amen.

Earth Day is Monday April 22nd 2019 (Easter Monday)
We are celebrating and supporting the environment from Tuesday, April 23 and finish on Friday, April 26. Here is what we are going to do:
Tuesday, April 23 - bring in your dead batteries for our Battery Drive. Wednesday, April 24 - Boomerang Lunch Day Thursday, April 25 - Wear Blue & Green Day Friday, April 26 - We will have our annual Earth Day clean-up of the school yard and surrounding areas.
We hope that you will join us and enjoy celebrating our Earth!

April 27 th – Grade 7 Confirmation a Holy Rosary Church 4:30 Mass (students to arrive by 4:00)
“Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John, who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit; for it had not yet fallen on any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit” (Acts 8.14-17).
Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, art. 1316)
