Hooters out of school club

Eclipse spotted! A really big thank you to Mr Flinn who set up the screen in the hall so we could all enjoy watching the eclipse safely. As you can see form the photographs we took, it was a spectacular sight.

Concert at St Matthews Pictures from tonight’s concert will be available on the web site as soon as possible. In advance wqe wish all the performers a successful evening tonight and we hope we are able to raise lots of money for two really good causes; the Build a Better Bandroom (Elland) and the re-wiring project (St Matthews). Thanks to all who have supported us.

New clubs for children at LJS After Easter we have two new clubs starting and the return of two old favourites. Mr Hurst’s ICT Mix is back by popular demand as is Story Magic Theatre’s Drama sessions. The two new clubs are Miss Pollack’s Y3/4 Dance club and Image Partnerships Camera Club. Please see the flyers and letters for more details, check the web site or look at the extended school notice board in the playground.

Goodbye Mr Duggleby and Hello Mr Hunt After a short tenure, Mr Duggelby and LJS have parted company. Mr Hunt joined our school at the back end of this week and we welcome him as our new site supervisor most warmly.

Mobile Classrooms As you may know, we are currently looking for a mobile classroom. We have the money and the planning permission but no classroom. If any of our parents can help us in obtaining a suitable unit we would be very grateful as we are ready to go once we can find one.

School closes for the term today. We have two straight weeks holiday and return on Monday 13th April at 8.50am. We wish all our families a good holiday.

It was ice-creams and lollies all round as we celebrated excellent behavior during the recent Ofsted inspection. The report will be available after the holiday.
