P.E. Active May Calendar - https://alittlebutalot.files.wordpress.com/2020/04/active-may-colour.pdf It has an activity per day for the month. Ties in nicely with Maths if you want to use it.At the moment we are practicing landing on the feet. The ability to land safely is a hugely important fundamental movement skill. The skill involves absorbing force over a large area, usually the legs or hands for a prolonged period of time. This force should be absorbed over as large an area or distance as possible with the joints bending to absorb the force.

- Warm up activity.- Movement inspector activity →- Focus on the teaching points below - one

each week.

1. Land with the feet wide apart but still in a stable position.

2. Bend the knees.

Here are a few suggestions of activities:- Practise landing at home by jumping over a small

cushion, teddy or other small item.- Practise the motorbike landing at home and show it to

a member of your family.- Ask a grown-up to make sure your landing area is safe.- Draw a picture of you landing after jumping.- Landing safely is important. Talk to a grown-up about

ways we can protect ourselves if we fall at home.- Practise jumping over a rope, into and out of a hula

hoop, over a taped line.- Play hopscotch at home, draw it using some chalk.

Ensure you have permission from a grown-up before you use the chalk on the ground. Practise good landing technique.

- Play ‘What Time is it Mr. Wolf’ using jumping and landing.- Game: Jack be Nimble R.E.
