Reception Home Learning ActivitiesPlease see below some activities you can complete as part of your home learning.
PhonicsSound HuntGo on a sound hunt around your house, can you find some objects with our phase 2 and 3 sounds in. Can you write the object in your homework book? Can you write a caption or a sentence about the object?
Phonics playCan you play a game on phonics play (Buried Treasure, Dragon’s Den or Pick a picture) to practise reading our phase 2 and 3.Can you play tricky word trucks to practise reading our tricky words. Can you practise writing the tricky words? WritingCan you use the picture cards to write a word, caption or a sentence in your homework book? Challenge: Can you write a sentence with a conjunction?
HandwritingCan you practise writing the letter families below in your homework book? Remember to look for the red dots, they tell you where to start writing the letters from.
MathsAddition and subtractionCan you practise solving addition and subtraction number sentences on your number line in your blue home learning folder? Remember, when you add you jump up the number line as the number gets bigger. When you take away, you jump down the number line as the number gets smaller.
Challenge – Can you make your own addition and subtraction word problem and work it out on the number line?
Halving Can you share the bees fairly on the flowers so that each flower has the same
amount?
DoublingCan you double the spots on the dominos and
work out what the double is?
MeasurementCan you use a ruler or a tape measure to measure your toys?
Can you find objects around your house that are heavy and light?
TopicChanges – Farm AnimalsThis half term we are learning all about farm animals. Could you make your own farm with different farm animals in? You might create this through drawing, painting or junk modelling your own farm animals.
Van Gogh – Observational DrawingsWe have been looking at Van Gogh’s artwork this term. Can you draw an observational drawing of sunflowers based upon Van Gogh’s sunflowers? Remember to keep looking back at the sunflowers to help you draw these.
