Discrete Subjects: Literacy & English – We will continue to develop our comprehension skills. We will learn how to read through a text and summarise the key information from that text. We will start our new creative writing journals which will focus on a space adventure theme.Spanish – We will further develop our number knowledge by counting up to 100 in Spanish.Numeracy- We will further develop our multiplication and division skills and we will be learning about the theory of Probability.Health and Wellbeing- We will be learning how to keep ourselves safe with a focus on road safety, substance misuse and anti-bullying (RRS Article 19) Our Building Resilience focus is Keep Connected and SHANARRI focus is on Nurtured (RRS Articles 5 and 15).Social Studies: We will be learning about Space and the Solar System and the inventor of the Telescope.RE- We will be celebrating Mass for the Feast of All Saints (1st November) and learning about the bible specifically looking at Nativity. We will learn about Advent and the meaning of Christmas.Expressive Arts – We are going to carry on with our scripts which we started last term in order for us to get to the stage of performing them this term.

Interdisciplinary Learning: Holy Cross is working towards the National Nurturing Schools Award. As part of this we are developing a whole school awareness of nurture, the 6 Principles of Nurture and continuing to build strong links with the local community.

This term we will be taking part in an enterprise project for our Christmas Fayre which will be held in school.

Health and WellbeingThrough this project we will be learning about developing the Key Skills for Work - initiative, planning, teamwork, communication and problem solving.

MathsWe will be learning about the value of money and how it is used.Expressive Arts – We will create crafts which will be sold at the Christmas Fayre.
