A web page is simply a text file containing commands written in the hypertext markup language. When you visit a web page, your web browser first downloads the html file (along with any associated images, sounds, animations, videos, scripts, etc.), and then executes the instructions in the file. As long as you point your web browser to the correct location, it does not matter if the page is on the web or on a disk in your computer. The page will be displayed.
