Fabric Needed:Blocks: ¼ yard of 6 fabricsBackground: ½ yardSashing: ¼ yardBorder: 1/3 yardBinding: 1/3 yardBack: ¾ yard

Cutting Instructions:1. Blocks: From each of 3 Fabrics Cut: 4 – 4 1/2” x 4 1/2”(A). From each of 3 remaining fabrics: Cut 4 – 3” x 3” (B), 4 – 2 1/2” x 2 1/2” (C).2. Background: Cut 1 - 4 1/2” strip x width of fabric (WOF). Cut into segments: 3 – 4 1/2” x 4 1/2” (D). Cut 1 – 3” strip x WOF. Cut into segments: 12 – 3” x 3” (E). Cut 3 – 2 1/2” strips x width of fabric (WOF). Cut into segments: 36 – 2 1/2” x 2 1/2” (F).3. Sashing: Cut 4 – 1 1/2” strips x WOF. Cut into segments: 2 – 40 1/2”, 4 – 12 1/2”.4. Border: Cut 3 – 2 1/2” strips x WOF. Cut into segments: 2 – 40 1/2”, 2 – 18 1/2”.Sewing Instructions:1. Blocks: a. Half Square Triangles: Mark diagonal lines on back of all E 3” squares. With Right Sides Together (RST), place B and E 3” squares together. Stitch 1/4” from either side of the marked line. Cut on marked line. Press to make 2 Half Square Triangles.

Repeat with 12 B & E 3” squares to make 24 Half Square Triangles. b. Stitch N Flip Block: Mark diagonal lines on 24 – F 2 1/2” squares. Place F square on corner of A 4 1/2” square as shown in diagram.

Stitch on marked line. Trim 1/4” from stitching to remove corner. Press corner back.

Place F square on opposite corner of A 4 1/2” square as shown in diagram. Stitch on marked line. Trim 1/4” from stitching to remove corner. Press corner back. Repeat to make 4 from each of 3 fabrics.

c. Corner Unit Arrange 2 HST, 1 C and 1 F piece as shown in diagram. Stitch together HST and C piece. Press to C piece. Stitch together HST and F piece. Press to F piece. Repeat to make 4 from each of 3 fabrics.

d. Block Construction Arrange 4 Corner Units, 4 Stitch & Flip Blocks & 1 D Center Block as shown in diagram. Stitch corner units on either side of stitch & flip block. Press to corner units. Stitch center square between 2 stitch & flip blocks. Press to center square. Stitch block rows together. Repeat to make 3 blocks.

2. Sashing Stitch 3 blocks between 4 – 1 1/2” x 12 1/2” sashing pieces. Press to sashing. Stitch 1 1/2” x 40 1/2” sashing pieces to top and bottom.3. Border Stitch 2 1/2” x 40 1/2” border pieces to top and bottom. Stitch 2 1/2” x 18 1/2” border pieces to right and left sides.4. Quilt and Bind.
