• Recent Graduates Program. The Recent Graduates Program provides developmental experiences in the Federal Government.
• Student Volunteer Service
(Unpaid). The NWS Service offers unpaid training opportunities to high school and college students. This program offers work experience related to the partici-pants’ academic field of study.
• National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) Summer Intern Program. NCEP, in College Park, Maryland, offers up to 10 paid summer internships targeted towards current, undergraduate, and graduate students to work in areas that will meet the future needs of the ever-broadening user community.

The National Weather Service
The National Weather Service’s (NWS) mission is to provide weather, water, and climate
data, along with forecasts and warnings for the protection of life and property and enhancement of the national economy. Our vision is for a Weather-Ready Nation in which society is prepared for and responds to weather-dependent events.
The NWS has employees spread across 122 weather forecast offices, 13 river forecast centers, 9 national centers, 6 regional centers, 21 center weather service units, and other support offices across the United States and its territories. Each year, the NWS collects about 76 billion observa-tions and issues approx-imately 1.5 million forecasts and 50,000 warnings.
