Water Vapor
Water vapor is cooled, as it exists up high in the sky. Warm air carries the water vapor up to that level. Tiny dust particles, floating in the air, help to form water droplets as the water vapor cools. Sometimes, snowflakes are formed when the water droplets freeze into ice crystals. 1. Where does water vapor cool?
A. at ground level B. at sea level C. high in the sky D. none of the above
2. What pushes the water vapor high into the sky?
A. wind B. warm air C. cool air D. all of the above
3. What helps to form water droplets?
A. rain B. clouds C. dust D. none of the above
4. Snowflakes are formed when
A. water droplets fall B. water droplets split C. water droplets freeze D. all of the above
5. What determines how rain is formed?
A. temperature B. precipitation C. cloud cover D. climate

Water
Water exists all over the world. Water may be in any one or combination of 3 forms: solid, liquid, or gas. Water vapor is water in a gas state. Condensation occurs when water vapor returns to a liquid form. Clouds are made up of water. The water vapor uses the dirt in the atmosphere to adhere to. This then results in the formation of a cloud! 1. Water can exist in what form?
A. liquid B. solid C. gas D. all of the above
2. What is an example of water in gas form?
A. water vapor B. ice C. pond water D. none of the above
3. When water vapor changes from vapor to a liquid state, it’s called
A. precipitation B. condensation C. a process D. none of the above
4. What are clouds mainly made of?
A. water B. dirt C. light D. none of the above
5. What helps clouds to form?
A. cool temperatures B. rain C. dirt in the air D. none of the above

Naming Clouds The criteria used to name clouds is based on both the appearance and the height of the cloud. Clouds are formed in different ways and provide a hint about what type of weather may be approaching. Some cloud names have two parts. The height of the cloud is usually indicated by the 1st part, or prefix, of the cloud’s name. The look and shape of the cloud is usually identified in the suffix, or 2nd part of the cloud’s name.
1. How are clouds named?
A. by appearance B. by height C. both A and B D. neither A or B
2. Clouds all form the same way.
A. true B. false
3. Clouds can sometimes predict
A. approaching weather B. past weather patterns C. wind speed D. none of the above
4. The first part of a clouds name gives information about its
A. history B. shape C. color D. height
5. The suffix part in a cloud’s name tells about its
A. appearance B. height C. color D. all of the above

Clouds Low lying clouds, which look a little like cauliflower, are called cumulus clouds. They appear to have a flat bottom with soft and fluffy individual cotton ball globs! Cumulus clouds appear on sunny days, and are ever changing in shape. Fair weather is usually in store when cumulus clouds fill the blue sky. Only when cumulus clouds build more into higher cloud layers, earning the name cumulonimbus, can the dark clouds that deliver heavy rain, lightening, and other damaging weather occur.
1. Cumulus clouds are compared to
A. broccoli B. cotton candy C. cauliflower D. none of the above
2. When is it most likely to see cumulus clouds?
A. sunny days B. windy days C. hot days D. all of the above

4. Cumulonimbus clouds may deliver
A. lightening B. heavy rain C. severe weather D. all of the above
5. Cumulus clouds are _____________ to watch due to their ever-changing shapes.

Bottled Water
The idea that bottled water is safer to drink than water from the tap is a myth. No governmental monitoring is, at the current time, required to regulate the quality of bottled water as there is with tap water. The potential danger of bottled water, as revealed in studies, is the possible growth of microbes inside the water bottles as they sit on store shelves.
Bottled water, which can cost more than 1,000 times that of water from the faucet, only tastes different than the tap water which meets all the required drinking standards set by law. 1. In the tap water verses bottled water arena, tap water may be safer than bottled water.
A. true B. false
2. Tap water requires governmentally set quality and safety standards.
A. true B. false
3. Bottled water has to follow governmentally set quality and safety standards.
A. true B. false
4. Microbes may grow inside the bottles of bottled water.
A. true B. false
5. Bottled water is less expensive than the average cost of tap water.

Only during the launch, also known as takeoff and ascent, does the main engine work. Both oxygen and hydrogen are burned during this time. 1. What space vessel is used by NASA?
A. Bus Shuttle B. Train Shuttle C. Space Shuttle D. Astronaut Shuttle
2. While orbiting the Earth, what form is the Space Shuttle in?
A. rocket B. airplane C. spaceship D. glider
3. How does the Shuttle land?
A. as a rocket B. as a Frisbee C. as a balloon D. as an airplane
4. What is the term(s) for when the Space Shuttle leaves the Earth?
