Dear Parishioners, Pope Francis will meet later this week with heads of all bishops’ conferences

from around the world to pray and to address the abuse crisis against minors and vulnerable adults in the Church. The meeting will begin this Thursday, February 21st and conclude on Sunday, February 24th and as reported, the focus will be reflecting fully together with the Holy Father on the issue of abuse. While it is not easy or comfortable to speak about such atrocities afflicting the Church, it is in justice and with compassion the Holy Father and the bishops will address this disease in our Church and society as a whole. Every year, near or on the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, many parishes and diocesan gatherings of priests have prayed in reparation for such sins in the Church and for the sanctification of priests. Here at Our Lady of the Snows we have done so annually with recitation of the Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and scheduled Holy Hours coordinated by the Parish Vocations Committee. Please see the flyer in today’s bulletin welcoming all of us to pray before the Blessed Sacrament next Sunday, February 24th. At 3:00 PM there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and time for silent prayer before Jesus the High Priest. The Holy Hour will conclude with benediction and I encourage you to invite fellow parishioners and family members and any other guests in neighboring parishes so that our combined prayers will allow for healing, consolation and transformation. May Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us.
