Message from the

Honorary Chairman

Since its inception in the year 2010, Sanskriti Group of Institutions has been striving hard to improve the status of higher education in the field of Technology, Hospitality, Humanities, Sciences and Management in Mathura and Agra region. I feel glad to note that our team has realized that we cannot remain confined within the small periphery of learning as is presently the case especially in U.P. If we want to prove ourselves competitive, at least at the National level in the higher education sector, the horizon of learning has to be broadened extensively. Sanskriti is taking requisite steps and trying to bring within its fold the best intellectuals in the field of academics who can definitely contribute towards programmes correction in terms of pedagogy, use of modern teaching aids and provide an exposure to the teaching-learning process of the best of institutions like IITs & IIMs through the presentation of lectures, video-conferencing, etc.

I am glad to know that the parents/guardians of the students studying in different schools of the University have appreciated the notable difference in the manner of imparting education in our University as compared to other institutions in this area and have been spreading positive word of mouth.

As we have set our vision towards achieving excellence in the field of education, it is very heartening to find that Sanskriti has entered into International Collaborations with many Universities of repute in Europe, USA and other parts of the world.

I wish Sanskriti University a grand success in the years to come. I would like to invite the students with their parents/guardians to visit its campus and see for themselves the steps taken by the University in providing the best possible holistic education and in the process, grooming young students to become effectively employable and ethical citizens of India.

I consider it my privilege to welcome the students who have decided to join Sanskriti University for pursuing higher education. I can assure you that you have made the right choice of University as it provides an educational environment that is conducive for grooming young men and women. It is done in a manner that enables them to efficiently shoulder the responsibilities during their professional career for their own prosperity and growth and, in the process, contribute towards the development of the nation.

The dynamic environment of the new millennium demands a paradigm shift in the process of delivery for higher education so that young men and women exposed to the system can adequately meet the changing needs of the business environment.

I am glad to inform the aspiring students, who have an urge to excel, that Sanskriti University has developed, and will continue to develop, its curriculum on the basis of global requirements. In short, the University is grooming the students of every programme in accordance with contemporary international requirements for attaining the expected level of ‘employability’. Research and Development (R&D) is an essential requirement of higher education. The University has taken the right steps in this direction by creating facilities for conducting research in different fields and also encouraging the students and faculty members to undertake research. They are also motivated to file patents.

Sanskriti University has set up a high-quality educational hub where every school has fully equipped laboratories, central library and other infrastructural facilities. The University is offering programmes much beyond the traditional programmes and grooming the students in those disciplines in which there is enough potential for quality placements in the near future.

I would like the students to experience the environment at Sanskriti and be a part of a ‘holistic grooming’ process. I wish them success and excellence in life.

Sanskriti University has developed (and will continue to develop) its curriculum on the basis of global requirements. In short, the University is grooming the students of every programme in accordance with contemporary international requirements for attaining the expected level of employability.

I am glad to note that the students have shown a lot of interest in pursuing various programmes offered by Sanskriti University and the candidates selected have qualified after going through a rigorous selection process. Excellent performance of these meritorious students will certainly the enhance reputation of the University which is taking various steps required for its recognition as one of the premier private universities. Further, a large number of programmes being offered by the University are beneficial for the students as every aspirant can choose the programmes that he/she likes the most.

By virtue of the geographical location of the campus on Mathura-Delhi Highway at Chhata, Mathura, the University provides a serene and pollution-free environment that encourages the students to devote their time to studies without any distractions and also provides opportunity to engage in various extra-curricular activities including sports. The University is taking all steps to provide the right ambience for the holistic development of the students.

I am glad to note that the University is attaching a lot of importance to ‘employability’ and it is taking necessary steps to ensure that every student is groomed to be ‘suitably employed’ in the industry. There is a regular institution industry interface so that the students get first –hand exposure to the industrial climate (while pursuing their studies) and understand the value of skill-based education.

Another important aspect that is given due importance is ‘placement’ of the students. In a country like India which is being recognized as a developing economy, it is imperative that all educated students should be suitably employed for the sustenance and growth of their family as well as the nation. An efficient and effective Training & Placement cell is in place to constantly monitor the employment

opportunities in different sectors of the economy. This cell gets in touch with the interested employers and invites them to the campus for conducting interviews for recruitment of students. Our motto is 100% quality placement.

As far as extra-curricular activities are concerned, cultural programmes are organized during Foundation Day and Annual Fest-(SPARK) when students get the opportunity to showcase their talents on the stage. The events are attended by many distinguished guests, faculty members, staff and, most importantly, students of the University.

I am confident that our University will constantly provide necessary inputs to the students to become well educated & appropriately employable citizens of India who will contribute towards the overall development of the nation and lead a worthwhile life.

Classrooms

The nuances of different subjects are explained by the faculty members and absorbed by the students. This process of transfer of knowledge is an extremely important part of education because a smooth transfer results in efficient learning. The environment within the classroom plays an important role and the University has designed the rooms as per international standards.

To make the environment student-friendly, comfortable seating arrangement has been provided. Attention is also being paid towards properly illuminating the rooms, ensuring that there is no echo effect, properly fixing boards of adequate dimension - white/green - at appropriate places, providing podiums of proper sizes at right places, etc. All the classrooms are equipped with teaching aids needed to support technology enhanced learning with audio visual aids like LCD projectors, Direct Overhead Projectors, etc.

Theoretical lectures are delivered in the classrooms and the major teaching-learning process takes place in the classrooms.

Seminar Hall

Organizing an event where large number of participants are expected to attend is possible only if there is a well-designed, well-built space equipped with state-of-the art gadgets suitable for conducting seminars. The University’s seminar hall sufficiently meets these requirements.

All seminars, trainings and guest lectures, etc. in which large number of students and faculty members are required to attend/participate, are being organized in this seminar hall. The hall is air-conditioned and equipped with all the necessary systems including acoustics which is important for conducting seminars of national and international levels.

As the University is offering large number of programmes, the seminar hall is being utilized almost on all working days. A roster is maintained for seminars of different schools to be conducted in the hall.

Sanskriti University is well aware of the fact that co-curricular activities are as important as academic teaching for imparting holistic education to the students. Keeping this in mind, seminars and conclaves are being arranged regularly for different programmes offered by the University.

Computer Labs

Setting up a computer centre requires proper designing of the layout of the systems, the servers, the space etc. Further, the computer centre is being manned by very competent system administrators who are keeping a close watch on the performance of the systems and, whenever necessary, take immediate steps to rectify the problems.

The University has planned the layout with a well thought-out design whereby all the labs are inter-connected within a specific area/location which helps in supervision, operation and maintenance. There are sufficient numbers of computers that cater to the needs of the practical learning process for students of different programmes. The seating arrangements for the students have been made by taking due note of the space required by each student to focus on the assigned jobs. All systems are connected on LAN and Wi-Fi facility is available throughout the campus including the hostels.

Computer centre plays a very prominent role as computer system is now-a-days basic tool in teaching-learning process. In the present era, we cannot think of providing quality education without the aid of computers as articles, power-point presentation, papers written by different authors & experts lectures on different issues are available for learning by downloading from the internet on the computers.

Library

The spacious library with requisite furniture and a reading room provides the right environment for students to enrich their knowledge by studying the books written by eminent authors - both national and international - and also by browsing reputed national and international journals, magazines, etc. The library is well-stacked with more than 1,00,000 books. It subscribes to approximately 50 Indian and 25 foreign journals apart from various e-journals.

Book bank facility is provided to the students through which each student gets requisite text books on all subjects according to the academic requirements of different semesters. This facility is in addition to the students’ entitlement of books issued against library cards.

All library books are barcoded. The users can find out the availability status of the books and other materials through the software - Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC).

The digital library is linked to DELNET. The users of the library enjoy the privilege of reading materials through this network also. It provides the facility of inter-connection of all libraries registered under DELNET scheme. This facilitates access to a wide range of books, journals, magazines, etc.

Library of the University is a treasure house of authentic and valuable information that support the educational and research needs. It facilitates learning and enrichment of knowledge. It serves the need for enhancement of quality of education.

Transportation

Commuting to Sanskriti campus located at Chhata, Mathura from adjoining areas is an important issue for the students since it is 28 km away from the city of Mathura (towards Delhi) on National Highway. The need for commuting is very well addressed by the University by extending transport facilities to the students and faculty members with the help of owned fleet of semi-luxury buses.

The charges for availing transport services are very nominal and affordable. The University provides transport facility to the girls at a subsidized cost for encouraging them to pursue higher education. Each bus has a senior faculty member as incharge and he/she ensures that proper discipline is maintained in the bus en route.

The transportation facility provided by Sanskriti University is certainly the institutions & universities operating in the area. The bus routes cover various towns and villages in and around Mathura, Vrindavan, Chhata, Kosi Kalan etc. The students and faculty members are ferried in comfortable buses.

Home like Hostels

It is rightly said that a hostel is a home away from home. For hostellers, their rooms become their small world. Necessary measures are taken to ensure the cleanliness and safety of all the hostels. The hostel service is student friendly and gives them a feeling of being at home.

The University is providing hostel facilities to the students who join the University from different parts of the country and from overseas for pursuing their studies. There are separate hostels for boys and girls.

The University takes special care about maintenance of the hostels as it understands that a hostel is like a home away from home for the students. Hence, necessary steps are taken to ensure that the facilities provided in the hostels are as much student-friendly as possible.

Spacious rooms with necessary furniture for taking rest/sleeping as well as studying are provided to the students.

Air-conditioned and non air-conditioned rooms are available for both boys and girls in separate Hostels .

24X7 Power back-up facility is available in every hostel and round-the-clock security arrangement is in place in all the hostels.

The students are required to maintain discipline at all times and are not allowed to leave the hostel without prior permission of the competent authority.

Cafeteria

Cafeteria is the place where students relax, unwind and recharge after a hard day at the University. Sanskriti University has a cafeteria that can accommodate around 200-300 students at any point of time for refreshment, lunch etc.

Campus

Safety

Sanskriti University has taken strict measures to ensure the safety of its students, faculty members and the staff.

• Sanskriti campus, including hostels, is secured by high boundary wall with barbed wire to prevent unauthorized access.

• The campus has only one entry gate manned 24x7 by armed security guards.

• Bags and belongings of the students and the visitors are checked manually by the guards.

• Metal detector is also provided at the entrance.

• Electronic register is maintained for all visitors and unknown entrants at the entry point. Details of visitors along with their identification proof and contact numbers are examined and recorded in the electronic register at the entrance.

• CCTV cameras are provided at strategic points throughout the campus.

• Canteen, mess etc. are closely monitored and necessary action is taken whenever required.

• Students are provided ID cards and displaying of such cards in the campus is compulsory.

• Special security arrangements are made at girls’ hostel. No male is allowed to enter the girls’ hostel. Girl students are not allowed to leave/enter the hostel after specified

hours.

Hangout Places

It has been perennially found that the students’ community flock together in groups amongst classmates and other friends after routine classes for unwinding. Such meetings/get-togethers help in breaking the monotony of back-to-back classroom lectures attended during the day. Also, meeting at “hangouts” gives the students an opportunity to refresh themselves in a group and, as the proverb goes, ‘raising storm over a cup of tea’ on various divergent topics ranging from art and culture to sports, music, politics etc.

These meeting points are typically known as “hangouts” where the students want to spend as much time as they can - for both enjoyment and unwinding/release of stress.

The students of Sanskriti University are no different and at leisure time, they also wish to “hangout”:

Within the campus premises in canteen

At malls and other shopping centers in Mathura.

The University canteen is a well-designed, well-decorated place within the campus that has chairs and tables laid out in a systematic pattern where the students can comfortably sit, talk and enjoy delicious food. The kitchen area is always kept clean and the foods prepared are hygienic and tasty. The complex is spacious, air-conditioned and well-illuminated.

Rules related to different matters concerning the hostels are recorded in the hostel manual and the students are advised to ensure strict compliance of the rules. Regular supervision of the hostels is being carried out by the hostel supervisors. As far as discipline is concerned, the rule of ‘zero tolerance’ is strictly followed. The hostel administration ensures that all works are attended to as per the check list on routine maintenance and cleanliness.

The furniture is laid in a manner to accommodate maximum people and yet look aesthetic. Quality and hygiene are the two most important factors in cafeteria. The regular quality control and quality checks at the cafeteria ensure highest standards of hygiene. Rest assured, there is never a compromise on food quality, cleanliness, and overall hygiene at the cafeteria. Be it kitchen or raw materials used

for preparation of food, everything goes through a stringent quality check.

The entire campus is ‘no smoking zone’ and strict vigil is being maintained in the cafeteria for prohibiting the students from smoking or consuming tobacco in any form.

About Unani

Unani-tibb or Unani Medicine also spelled Yunani Medicine is a form of traditional medicine practiced in middle-east & South-Asian countries. Unani medicine first arrived in India around 12th or 13th century with establishment of Delhi Sultanate (1206 - 1527) and Islamic rule over North India and subsequently flourished under Mughal Empire. The Unani medicine system is one of the ancient medicine system adopted by the South-Asia and Middle-East countries of the world. This system has originated from the Greek by the great physician “Hippocrates”. It is also known as the “Hikmat” or Unani Tibb Medicine. It has 6000 years back history. Unani is the ancient medical system which is involved in the treatment of patients to help in enhancing the body’s natural healing system by using Unani medicines. The patients are taken care of enhancing the natural healing power of the human body. The concept of Unani is that the body rejuvenates itself because of its self-healing power. We just need to help it by enhancing the natural healing power. Unani is based on the principles of four aspects: blood in human body, phlegm, yellow bile and black bile. Fire, water, earth and air are the four components of this system. It has greater significance in the treatment and management of diseases like infertility, weight loss, vitiligo, diabetes, kidney stone, etc.

Sports play a pivotal role in shaping one’s personality and maintaining good health. We’ve specially developed a sports environment that matches international standards and gives a truly global experience to all our students. There are multiple sport facilities to keep our students engaged and physically fit.

Outdoor and Indoor Sports Facilities: Every student is encouraged to take active part in at least one outdoor activity. It has set up facilities/grounds for Cricket, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Table-Tennis, Badminton, Chess, Carom, etc., and league matches are encouraged. We are also planning an inter-college sports tournaments to develop a spirit of healthy competition.

While games, sports and athletics directly contribute to physical development of students, other co-curricular activities also indirectly contribute to it. These activities provide a useful channel for the growth and development of the body.
