From the CEO…Kathleen Lovenbury

Dear Friends,

I would like to express thanks to all of our sponsors, restaurant vendors and volunteers in helping us make our Nautical Night fundraiser a great success.

We are now planning our 20th Annual Dr. John Manning golf tournament which will be held on September 12 at Pocasset golf club. We hope to see you there.

On April 29th, Crystal Springs Adult Services received its 3 year accreditation from the Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL). CQL Accreditation signifies that Crystal Springs, Inc. as an organization, is committed to the fundamentals of Basic Assurances, Shared Values and Personal Outcomes Measures of the Individuals receiving our support and services.

Congratulations to all Crystal Springs staff. This is a remarkable accomplishment that we are very proud of. Crystal Springs has chosen to partner with SNESAA, the Southern New England Social Assistance Association, for those who receive Social Security Benefits. The Home and Community Based Waiver supports goals so that people become a social and vital part of their community, which includes community banking. People who have an affiliation with SNESAA, will have the experience of going to the bank, have a debit card and will have a teller who knows them by name.

The individuals enjoyed a variety of activities at ABLE I. Activities included the gardens surrounding the ABLE building. The indi-viduals, with the assistance of the program supporters, started working on the gardens in early spring. The process included weeding and digging into the fresh dirt to make room for a myriad of flowers that showcased

the landscape so beautifully. Once the flowers were planted, the individuals water the gardens regularly. All their time and effort paid off as the gardens continue to thrive well into the sum-mer months. In addition to the gardens, ABLE I worked on a variety themed projects that focused on holidays/events that occurred over this time period. Some examples are; Earth Day, Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Independence Day. Projects included arts + crafts, cooking, music, commu-nity trips and fun facts.

We are also preparing for our CARF Accreditation Survey at the end of July.

Children’s Services held its 2016 graduation ceremony and prom dance on June 17th. This year we had a large graduating class of 9 students who all looked great in their caps and gowns! Many family members and friends came together to witness our graduates receive their diplomas and there were some wonderful and heartfelt testimonials given on behalf of each of our young ladies and gentlemen.

After a nice meal with families, the evening concluded with graduates, families and friends rocking out at our prom dance where there was much dancing and fun to be had! It was a fantastic way to finish off a memorable day for our proud students, parents and staff. We wish our graduating students all of the best as they embark on a new phase of their lives and move more fully into adulthood!

Crystal Spr ngs’Nautical Night

On behalf of the entire Crystal Springs community, we’d like to thank our sponsors, donors, restaurant exhibitors, volun-teers and guests for helping to make this year’s Nautical Night Event a huge success. Together we were able to raise over $40,000 for the students and residents of Crystal Springs! This generous support helps us lay the groundwork for the life-changing work that we do here at Crystal Springs, allowing us to provide a truly exceptional level of service to the individuals who live and learn with us; and for that, we are exceedingly grateful.
