They delighted in recalling those unplanned moments which were simply too beautiful to miss. Each picture was unique and alluring in its own way. We definitely have some talented photographers here in The Villages.
Ronnie Carrington, a well-known professional photographer, visited the Recreation Centre to view the Exhibition and was quite impressed with the photographs taken by the members. He applauded them for having the vision to display their photos for others to see.

$5,722.50 FOR THE LITTLE PINK GIFT FOUNDATIONWhat better way to give back to an amazing foundation than 304 people showing their support in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, February 22, 2015; that truly says it all!
The Villages 5K Run/Walk was a sight to see and it was definitely not one to miss. The crowd started to build from as early as 5:00 am on what was a beautiful morning, perfect for a run or walk.
‘IN FOCUS’
A LOOK BACK AT THEPHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION
The pictures which hung on the walls in the Desert Rose Room painted beautiful scenes of our island Barbados. On the opening night of the exhibition, the members of the Photography Club shared their stories of how each moment was captured.
If you want to try your hand at photography, you too can join the Photography Club and be a part of some of their photo-expeditions!
The club meets the first Wednesday of every month at 6:00 pm over at the Recreation Centre.
“For an amateur photography Club Ithought the photos were excellent. They
showed places of interest that I haven’t
seen as a Barbadian, which was very interesting to me. What was even more
exciting, was that some of the photos were taken with iPhones and small digital
cameras. It was a wonderful showcase.

White T-Shirts were all gathered around getting ready to make their way through The Villages at Coverley for the Little Pink Gift Foundation; there was excitement in the air. We had a team of volunteers who we truly cannot thank enough for their assistance. Whether it was directing the participants through The Villages or ensuring they stayed fueled up, they gave it 100% in true Villages style!
This year, we were able to raise $5,722.50 which will be donated to the Little Pink Gift Foundation to assist those persons who have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
We would like to extend our gratitude to our sponsors for their generous donations and to everyone else who was not able to participate but made a donation.

Easter in The Villages is almost here and to kick-start the festivities we will have an Easter Craft workshop just for the kids! Children and grandchildren of The Villages and their friends are welcome.
Registration is $6.00 and we’ll need 2 volunteers to make this event successful.
HOW TO REGISTER! Complete the registration and release form at the Property Management office, Monday to Friday 7:30am -4:30pm. Payment must be made no later than Wednesday, March 18.

The Recreation Centre is in the process of building its library. If you have any books that you’d like to donate then bring them over to the Recreation Centre and help to create a library for the residents by the residents.
We are also looking to bring The Villages Book Club to life! A book club is a great way for book enthusiasts to meet and discuss a particular novel while building relationships with persons who share their passion for reading.
If you are interested in leading this club or simply want to a part of it, then let us know!
You can email us at: [email protected] and the Recreation Staff will assist you in organizing The Villages Book Club for the month of April! If you wish to donate any great books, bring them over to the Recreation Centre.

Make biodegradable planters out of toilet paper rolls.
Give broken pots a new lease on life by turning them into plant markers.
Start a seedling in an eggshell.
Use leftover coffee grounds to enrich your soil and repel critters.

Keep soil from leaking out of your pots’ drainage holes with coffee filters. They are also seriously absorbent so you can skip a watering here and there and not end up with a dried-up disaster.
Don’t have a watering can that pours how you like? Make one out of a gallon jug!
