Shanghai GE Guangdian Co., Ltd. has introduced advanced production technology, facilities and testing instruments in designing, manufacturing and selling three-phase cast resin dry-type transformers, which are also exported to the United States and all over the world.
Our products have passed all the quality tests carried out by the National Center of Quality Supervision and Inspection for Transformers, the short-circuit test for SCB type distribution transformers by KEMA lab, and the test of resistance to vibration for transformer with cubicle and connection busbar run by the Main National Lab for Civil Engineering Disaster Prevention of Tongji University.

2. Features of Products
• Safe, fire self-extinguishing, fireproof, low noise level, pollution-free; available at load center.
• Made up of all-copper foil, the H&L voltage windings have high short circuit withstand capabilities, high lightning impulse withstand capability and high reliability.
• The H&L voltage windings are molded with epoxy resin on high vacuum. The partial discharge is lower. Air channels can be installed. Humid-resistant and high heat dissipating ability. It is able to run normally under the relative humidity of 100%. Rated capacity can increase 40% as air-cooling.
• Convenient installation; easy maintenance; low losses and general operation cost.
• Temperature display and controlling system, which resists the interference from electric and magnetic field, is installed on windings to ensure safe operation of transformer. Computer interface can be fixed so that it can be controlled and monitored remotely.
• It can be equipped with protection enclosure and connection busar, which enables it to be used both indoors and outdoors. Indoor built-up structures may be immune to the limitation of the doorframes in the installation location. Connection busbar can be directly connected to the busbar of switchgear, which is really convenient.

3. Core

• Mitred type adopts 45 degrees cuts; multistage step-by-step stacking• No punching holes on yokes; connecting plate structure • Coated with resin-emulsion paint. The surface of yokes locking
armature has been treated by electrostatic painting to protect them against humidity, rusts and salt fog.
• It has the advantages of lower no-load losses and current as well as lower noise.

4. Windings
• All the low and high voltage windings are made up of copper bands (foils). Voltage between layers is low, while layer capacity is great. Its

lighting impulse withstand capacity is high. The reactance of high and low voltage is the same. There’s no helical angle. For ampere turns of the high and low voltage windings are best leveled, the windings are capable of withstanding short circuit. Therefore, they have high operating reliability.
• Molded with epoxy resin at high vacuum, the high and low voltage windings have well electrical and mechanical performance. Partial discharge of them is less than 5pC.
• High and low voltage winding can be equipped with ventilating air passages according to requirements for heat dissipation. The isolating resin on the surface is 2.0~2.5mm thick in average, ensuring the temperature increase and strength of the windings and securing the 30-year service life.
• Because of the quartz powder on the epoxy resin and the glass-fiber net banded inside and outside the windings, they have high heat-dissipating ability, humidity-resistance and flame resistance. There is no need to worry about cracking. They can work normally under the humidity of 100%. Their flame-resistant performance accords with the Britain BS7806F2.
• The interior of the low and high voltage windings are credibly welded automatically and protectively by argon with low resistance.
• The imported equipment of high-precision and automation and high-quality imported isolating materials ensure the stable high quality and the safe operation of the windings.
• F and H stands for the two insulation levels. The temperature-rise limitation and voltage combination can be designed according to the customer’s specific requirements.

5. Accessories
Temperature Controller • A set of temperature controller can be set on the transformer to ensure
its normal services life through displaying and controlling the temperature of the transformer windings in work.
• The temperature measure sensors, Pt100 platinum resistant, are flushed into low voltage windings to get the temperature signals and circularly show the temperature of windings of each phase on the control panel after being treated by circuit. The temperature control system is capable of temperature setting, saving the highest temperature after power failure, fan picking-up and stopping automatically/manually, fault alarming, over temperature alarming with sound and light, over temperature tripping function besides the electromagnetic interference proof feature of national standard.

• Computer interface and software are available to carry out remote control.

Fan • Low noise flow fan can reduce the winding temperature, improve its
ability of running under over-load, expand the service life of the transformer. In forced air-cooling mode, output will be increased by 40%.

6. On-load Tap Switch
When the voltage of the electric net fluctuates, the transformer’s tapping can be changed over automatically or electrically in on-load operation to ensure that the user get the tap switches which employ the stable voltage.

MFK type complex on-load pneumatic tap switch As an uninflammable novel on-load tap switch using air as the isolating
and arc-extinguishing media, it is equipped with ZTK self-controller and may be connected to computer interface to carry out remote control. It is suitable for dry-type power transformers of 6~10kV, 3150kVA and lower.
Features: Reliable quality; convenient installation and maintenance; low priced; patented. KY and CVT series of vacuum on-load tap switches
As a transitional unit-resistance on-load tap switch employing air as the isolating media and using vacuum switch pipe in switching over, it is furnished with ZDT20 (40) or HMK-2Z types of automatic tap changing controller and may be linked to computer interface to carry out remote control. It is suitable for dry-type power transformers of 6~10kV, 2500kVA or lower.
Features: Reliable quality; convenient installation and maintenance; widely used. They are classified into two types: cylindric and cubicle type.

Note:1) The holes in the base plate are of 4×Φ22. To facilitate moving, 4 wheels of Φ150 are fixed on it, which result in an increase of approximately 130mm in height (H) and 40kg increase in weight.
2) According to request of users, the products of other different connections or other impedance voltage or other H.V. tapping range can be supplied.
11. SCZB9 type 10KV dry-type distribution transformer with on-load tap changing
● With big tap changing range, it is suitable when the voltage of electric net fluctuates dramatically.
● With automatic on-load tap changing, high-quality stable voltage can be gained.
● Equipped with automatic tap-changing controller, which bears the functions of automatic and electrical operation and remote control.
● Compact structure makes the maintenance easy. Reliable operation can be achieved.
● Tap switches fall into pneumatic and vacuum type, cubicle type and disc type, which makes it suitable for many occasions.
● Of series dry-type distribution transformer with on-load tap changing are the same with those of the series dry-type transformer with off-circuit tap changing, having the same capacity.
● The differences from the SCB series are listed below: 1) Tapping range: ±4x2.5%; 2) The differences in length, width and height are illustrated in the
figure below;3) The weight will increase by 180kg when the cylinder tap switches
are applied. The weight will increase by 460kg when the cubicle tap switches are applied.
● The normal positions, where tap switches are installed on the transformer body, are shown in the figure below. The tap switches and the transformer body are arranged centrosymmetrically.
● The outside dimensions of the enclosure of the dry type transformer with on-load tap changing are different from those of the enclosure of the off-circuit tap changing dry type transformers with the same capacity in terms of the following aspects: where tap switches are fixed on the side, the L increases by 620mm; the B increases by 750mm when cylinder tap switches are located in the front; the B increase by 640mm when cubicle tap switches are arranged in the front.

17. Dry type transformer with protection enclosure
Products for domestic market: Enclosure protection level of the transformers targeted at the domestic market shall be of standard GB4208-93 (eqvIEC529: 1989), while that of the to-be-exported products shall be in accordance with the American standard NEMA.
Indoor-installed: IP20, which can prevent human body from approaching the enclosed dangerous components and provide protection against entrance of objects with diameter bigger than 12mm.
IP30, which cannot only prevent human body from approaching the enclosed dangerous components, but also provide protection against entrance of objects with diameter bigger than 2.5mm.
Outdoor-installed: IP23, which can not only provide functions as IP20, but also prevent entrance of water drops at a vertical angle of less than 60°.
Products to be exported: NEMA1 enclosure can prevent human body from approaching the enclosed dangerous component and provide protection against entrance of alien objects with diameter bigger than 12.7mm. NEMA3R (ventilation type) can not only provide functions as IP30, but also prevent entrance of water drops at a vertical angle of less than 75°.
The enclosures of above-mentioned types are all made out of sheet steel finished with resin static paint, which enables it to stand salt fog for 200 hours. They can also be made of stainless steel sheets or aluminum alloy sheet.

Enclosures for indoor-installed transformers are constructed with bolts and rivets, unlimited by the doorframes on the installation site. Transformers can be moved outside or inside from the front side in case of maintenance. They can be transported and erected in whole. Those for outdoor-installed transformers are constructed with bolts and rivets, or by welding. They provide protection against rain, snow, hail and ice formation. They can be transported and erected in whole.
Temperature controller and electrical control cabinet are installed in the door panel of the enclosure. There are lighting devices inside. Tap changing controller is fixed in the door panel of the enclosure for the transformer with on-load tap changing controller.
We provide enclosures of various protection classes and the corresponding tin-coated copper line banks of several wiring methods. They can stand the test of the ground acceleration ag: caused by earthquake, whose horizontal component is 0.6g and vertical component is 0.3g. The dimensions of some commonly used enclosures of dry-type distribution transformers and their forms of incoming and outgoing are listed below for reference.

Notes: a. “Z” is prefixed to the model number of the transformer with
rectification. b. There is an “O” in front of the S in the model number of the self-
