http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/water-collective-summary 1/1
Cultivating the economic advancement of developing communities by providing a foundation of clean and accessible water.
WHY WATER + MICROGRANTS?
There is a direct link between poverty and a lack of access
to water. In order for a community to hold on to clean water,
they must possess an economy that can fund the mainte-
nance and repair of a clean water source after initial instal-
lation.
One study found that poor countries that gained access to a
clean water source experienced an improved economic
growth rate by 3.7% annually; poor countries without
access experienced a growth of only 0.1% annually*.
Clean water cannot be permanent without a developed
economy, and an economy cannot prosper without clean
water.
.
WHAT WE DO
Water Collective is a community development program for
third world communities lacking access to clean water. Our
organization provides clean water solutions and micro-
grants to aid a community towards poverty relief. We
specialize in rallying grassroots community participation
and leadership to design development programs that arecustomized to address local water needs and economic
adversities.
CLEAN WATER SOLUTIONS + COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT MICROGRANTS
Appropriate water technologies will be selected for a com-
munity according to local needs and physical allowances, so
that the solution is custom fitted for success. Our mission isto deliver water solutions that can create a reliable source of
clean water to a community for years to come.
Participating communities will receive a microgrant to fund
activities of community development. The microgrant will
be divided amongst community members to fund entrepre-
neurial endeavors and growing businesses that will increase
local market activities. All shareholders of a microgrant will
repay the borrowed amount so that it can be reinvested into
a community development project. Depending on the localneed, community development projects can consist of:
building roadways, infrastructure, educational facilities, and
health care services. Providing growth opportunities for
local entrepreneurs and infrastructural development will aid
a community towards economic progress.
START YOUR OWN WATER COLLECTIVE
CAMPAIGN
The “Start Your Own Water Collective” campaign allows
individuals worldwide to drive their own fundraising
campaigns for a Water Collective project they wish to fund.
Being part of a Water Collective allows individuals to
connect with other Water Collectives worldwide to shareknowledge, discuss, and compete to be the highest fund-
raising group. For applicable projects, Water Collectives
will be able to communicate with Collectives at a project
location to learn more about the community that is being
funded.
